Hey everyone!

I wanted to start a discussion about the GG Flip & Go format, because I’ve had very mixed feelings about it.

For me, the flip stage feels completely like a lottery almost like Toto .
There were days when I went through three separate sessions where I lost six flips in a row. Brutal.

But once I actually reach the ITM stage, the field often feels weak. I see a lot of mistakes and soft spots, so in that phase I actually like the format.

What do you think about Flip & Go?
Do any of you play it regularly?
Is it possible to approach it in a strategic way, or is it simply too much variance?

Curious to hear your opinions!

Agreed Flip stage is pure luck. But that's the whole gimmick of that game format.
Yes I also found the field in the Go Stage rather soft.

Will you try qualify for the Flip&Go Millionaire game?^^

Haha, I wish I was at the point where I could take shots at the $11 Millionaire 😅
For now I’ve only tried the $0.05 qualifiers, but the run has been rough — I had three tournaments in a row where I couldn’t even get past the flip stage.

On GG you can buy up to 5×1000 chips per tournament, and there are usually 5–6 qualifying flips every hour, so taking real shots at the $11 Flip&Go Millionaire would mean a ton of attempts. Way too much volume for my current bankroll 😄

So for now I’m sticking to the micro flips — I’m definitely not rolled well enough for the $11 shots yet.

I wouldn't spend 11$ on a flip either hehe.
But there are 1$ satties for it haha.

Still if you don't have 55$ to burn each try it's probably futile haha

Hi, so with this format therre is definetely a lot of variance in the first stages, but you can play strategiacally since you see the other players cars, and if you are fast, you can count on what your odds are on winning with two of three particular cars and also anticipating what the other players might play. Sometimes it's better to go for a flush with a 4 and 6 leaving an Ace behind, because somebody has for example ace pair already or two other players have a single ace which they most probably will keep so there is only one single ace left in the deck. That's the strategy.

Flip & Go is somewhat of a unique tournament format, as it was first played online, after which the wsop organizers added a tournament under this name to their live schedule. Typically, poker formats follow a reverse path: first appearing live, then online. The format is extremely volatile, so it's best to play it with a solid bankroll.
