Who plays at Foxwoods?

I'll be 21 in a week, which means I can finally grind at Foxwoods. I do have a few questions for anyone who plays there regularly.

1. Minimum/Maximum buy in for the 1/2 NLHE game
2. Minimum/Maximum buy in for the 2/5 NLHE game

3. When I go there, do I need to get a players card and leave it on the table to accumulate points or something? I know they have a weird rewards program and I definitely want to get in on it, even if its only a few bucks.

4. Best/cheapest place to stay?

5. Best time of the week for fishy traffic?

6. Oh yeah, and how is the golf?

I just want to know what to expect

OH yeah, and how much cash should I bring to grind a 1-2 game, like 800-1500?

First time hear this room. Hm... Intresting! Is it good?

I go there mainly just for tourneys, since theres a ton of cash games 5 min from my house.

1/2 ) Ive only played cash there a few times, but I always bought in for 500 in 2/5. Not sure if that is the max. If it is, I would assume 200 maybe 300 for 1/2.

3) Takes 5 minutes to get a players card. There are booths around the casino. Just ask and theyll send you to one.

4) Great Cedar is right near the poker room. Unfortunately, rooms are always sold out now and usually you gotta call in advance. Rates vary. ~220 for a weekend night - 140-170 weekday depends on what offers they have.

5) Always the weekend at any casino.

6) dont play golf, cant help ya there!

1/2 NLHE you can buy in for $50 and max is $300. Don't know about 2/5.

Get a players card, takes 5 minutes max and they won't let you play without it. The more points you get, the cheaper the room will be. You don't accumulate a ton of points playing poker, Table games and slots will get you the points. If you go with a group or even another person and someone plays the slots, try to use only one person's card, so one person gets all the points and rewards.

For example, if I play and get 10 points and you play and get 10 points, we get nothing comped. However, if I get 20 points and you get O, I may get a free room or meal. Just throwing these numbers out there for comparison.

You can stay at the Two Tree's Inn, which is on the Foxwoods property. It is about half the cost of staying on the property. Take a shuttle from the hotel to the casino. Comes every 5 - 10 minutes 24/7. It even ran last winter during one of our snowstorms.
You really should make reservations as far ahead as you can as 2 weeks before anytime is usually sold out or real expensive. There is a website, mysticcounty.com, that will have rooms when the hotel is sold out.

There is a real nice golf course on the property, across the highway, a little pricey for me though.

I like to go to Foxwoods during the week, it's cheaper to stay.

I'm from the north shore in Ma so its a 2 hour drive or so. I plan on playing 1/2 and crushing the game, I won't go near 2/5 until I'm comfortable with the room. If the max is 300$ at 1/2 that's really nice, I would have expected 200$.

What games do you play? I plan on playing 1/2NL but I may also try the 4-8 limit game, which I hear they run.

the balisimo grand is nice too right up the road with shuttles or limos every half hour till like 2 or 3 am good rates too I play 1-2 ithink 60 is the min buy in and 300 max.i don't get there as often as I would like

Karozi Where on the north shore are you from? I am originally from the North Shore, Everett, if that could be considered North Shore. LOL

Well, here was me seeing someone from Mass and thinking we could hitch a ride together. You're literally on the complete opposite trajectory from where I'd be coming from. (Berkshires)

1. I actually think the min buy-in for 1/2 NL is $40. Pretty sure I saw someone plunk that down. $300 max.

2. Don't know what the min is for 2/5, $500 max. The Limit games are based on traffic/interest. I played a 3/6 Limit when I was there the last time...it was tough to take it seriously. Since no one else was.

3. Register for a player's card at a station, and make sure they have the right address. If what is on your license is wrong, make sure and correct them. They send out point promotions and discounts on stays that way. Within a month you'll receive a flyer with those promos, which vary in awesomeness. One solid weekend at the tables (20 hours) plus 20 minutes at the slots gave me two free nights a month, Mon-Thurs, at any of their hotels. My SO, who didn't register until halfway through, got discounted stays ($49-$119) but no free nights. Promos range by season. As always, YMMV.

4. Two Trees Inn is the cheapest, it's off property, it's the easiest one to get comps for, and the one that sells out the fastest. Going from there is the Grand Cedar Hotel, Fox Tower, and the Grand Pequot Tower coming in as the nicest/most expensive. You will want to book a room at least a week in advance, two weeks for the summer.

5. Late night/early morning weekends. It's INSANE. That 3/6 game I was talking about? Ppffbbtt.

6. Can't help you there, my SO has wanted to golf there, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. Perhaps soon I can report back.
