Hi everyone,
I’ve been a member of this community for 10 years now, and I’ve seen how poker software has evolved from simple 2D tables to the resource-heavy clients we have today. Lately, I’ve been grinding on GGPoker and WPT Global, and I suffer from a lot of lag or overheating.
WPT Global, in particular, uses Unreal Engine, which makes it feel more like a modern video game than a poker App. If you want to play without crashes or lag, especially when multi-tabling, here are the hardware specs I recommend based on my testing:
💻💻💻
1. The "Bare Minimum" (To run the apps):
📵📴📳
If you’re playing on the go, avoid budget or mid-range phones as they will struggle with WPT's 3D engine; for a reliable experience, you’ll need at least 8GB of RAM and a high-end processor like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or an iPhone 13 Pro (A15 Bionic) to handle multi-tabling without lag. However, if you want the absolute best performance, I recommend a dedicated gaming phone like the ASUS ROG Phone 8 or a Samsung S24 Ultra; these devices offer advanced vapor chamber cooling and massive batteries, ensuring the software doesn't throttle its speed when the action gets intense at the final table.
I'm migrating to some of these teams. Playing multiple tournaments these days has been really uncomfortable, especially in two different rooms. Those days when you could open up to 10 of those on PokerStars are a distant memory.

1. The "Bare Minimum" (To run the apps):
- CPU: Intel i5 (10th Gen+) or Ryzen 5.
- RAM: 8GB (Strictly 16GB if you use a HUD or keep Chrome open).
- GPU: Integrated Intel Iris Xe or Vega 8.
- Storage: SSD is mandatory. Do not use an HDD.
- CPU: Intel i7 or Ryzen 7 (Latest generations).
- RAM: 32GB. This is the game-changer. Poker clients tend to have memory leaks during long sessions; 32GB keeps everything snappy.
- GPU: Dedicated NVIDIA RTX 3050 or 4050. Necessary for WPT Global’s 3D graphics to run smoothly without stressing the CPU.
- Monitor: 1440p (QHD) for better multi-tabling real estate.
