It's hard to talk about the most popular. In my opinion, there are several most popular sports, including football and boxing, hockey, racing, basketball. Different sports have different popularity in different countries, but perhaps the only exception to the rule is boxing.

Soccer is. I think that's what you mean. American football is the most popular sport in the USA, but much lower on the worldwide list. Surprisingly to me, Cricket is a top 3 most popular sport in the world. This is largely due to the fact it is #1 in India and they have a few people there. The India vs. Pakistan cricket rivalry is crazy!
