In addition to the injuries, the squads are worn out and bored with the same as always. Even the coaches are sick of their casts and playing styles! They have to reinvent themselves.

its almost impossible for a pro sports team to stay on top nowadays . as the above posters have mentioned , the motivation doesnt seem as strong. i think it will happen as well with the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL once they hit the playoffs this season .

I don't know about Madrid, but perhaps City players themselves are starting to realise that they are not 'achieving' anything, they are pushing their luck until the charges catch up with them.
