Team USA went into the game with Trinidad & Tobago in a relaxed state. They trusted in their victory. But got defeated. And will not be at the World Cup for the first time in 32 years.

Very few USA players are really world class, but soccer / football is widely played here in high schools and colleges. It is not an unknown sport.

Definitely that is one of the biggest surprises left the last day of eliminations yesterday .... between the teams of USA, Honduras, Panama .... the USA team was the one that had the clearest to qualify yet lost and that left them out of the world ...!

Soccer (futbol) will never be big in the USA, where real football rules. Frankly, I'm glad the US lost, so I don't have to hear about it any more, beyond the day after.
