Satellite tournament, 9 at the table. The ante was 0.12 BB. After paying the ante, I held 15.17 BB and the villain held 15.1 BB. We were still a few positions outside the bubble and it was far away from bursting. I was the BB and the villain was UTG+1, who opened 2BB. I called with Kh5s.
The flop went Ah Jh 7h, both checked. Therefore I thought that the villain wouldn't have a made flush or any strong hands like triple or two pairs.
The turn was Qd. My hand hadn't improved. However, I had both a top flush draw and a top straight draw, so I bet 2.67 BB on 5.34 BB. He called.
The river ended up Ac. It didn't hit. I checked. He bet 3.2 BB on 10.68 BB. If the villain had any of an A, Q or J (which was nearly certain given that he opened UTG+1), I would lose immediately. I folded.
Which step did I do wrong? Should I not bet on the turn with only a spectulative hand and out of position?
I had only 10.5 BB left and lost the tournament in the next hand when a limper called my A6s shove at SB and showed ATo. (If everyone folded to me, A6s was a very clear shove at SB with 10BB 12.5% ante, but there were 2 limpers ahead of me and I had no idea how I should adjust to the range.)
