MTT hand from yesterday: I had 18 BB on the button with KJs. SB was super tight, BB recreational. I open, BB shoves 22 BB. Would you call this spot? I called, but I’m not sure if it was too optimistic

BB can complete and see a cheap flop closing the action, so most players are only going to be 3-betting premium hands from that particular seat especially for as much as 18BB effective. And for that reason I would typically fold here without a strong read.

What's a low buy-in? Generally you can fold this to play better cards for 18bb.

If by PFR=0 you mean the BB, then you should fold. If by pfr 0 you mean you, then maybe you should loosen up!

Either way you can fold and still live for a while and find a better spot to double up.

Given the low buy in, I might have just called in that spot. People are donks in micro stakes and shove wider looking for spots to double up.

What range are you putting BB on?

The answer to your question is maybe:love:

The key for you is how to study this spot
1 GTO WIZARD---FREE---it has preflop charts - MTT at close to 18bb
2 Look at what the BB is supposed to be shoving and use your player pool data to compare their shoves to that range.
3 Notice that the solver does not shove AA or KK but do your players? If yes than we fold more often than the solver

The solver has you call vs a solver shove range with no AA KK in it--study your player pool to see if you should exploit fold.
