In the late stages of MTTs, I often see players limping from early or middle position, even with 20–30bb stacks.

It puts me in tough spots — especially when I'm on the button or in the blinds. Sometimes I iso-raise and get flatted, sometimes I just check back and give up initiative.

What’s your general strategy vs. limpers in the later stages?
Do you isolate wider, tighten up, or just play more cautiously postflop?
Any tips for dealing with multi-way limped pots when I can’t push people off easily?

Would love to hear how others approach this annoying but common dynamic.

With 10-20BB chips sometimes I do it with permium cards, if they raise I go all in, if they don't I often get into bad positions not the best strategy in my opinion

You have to be careful because these effective stack sizes can really put you in difficult spots post flop.

Around 18BBs you can consider shoving over players especially if they are chronic limp folders.

If you see a tight player high blind limp, alarms should go off in your head, because they are probably strong.

I don't "deal" with limpers. If I have a strong hand I raise, period. If I have a weaker, speculative hand (e.g., A4s, 22) I'm quite happy to limp right along with them. A4s or 22 either kills it, or takes deep dive. So why not just keep my mouth shut, head down, and wait to see a flop?

In late stages of MTTs, preservation of your chip stack is your primary goal…most players are playing more conservatively, and raising into a multi player hand will often yield poor results…you don’t want to be the second best hand in a 5 way pot…at the same time, getting blinded out or into a do-or-die situation is really frustrating. Don’t bluff with nothing and play your very strong hands aggressively.

Beware of 30BB- and especially 20BB- limpers, especially if you are in a stronger game, as GTO-wise the lower the stacks are, the more often you should mix limping with raising to preserve chips and give you more room to act postflop (it occurs mainly from the later positions, but 15BB- you even get UTG limping ranges, I believe it often correlates with the fact if you have open-jams in your range there or not). If you have this sort of limper, you should be extremely cautious, as their limping tells you nothing about their hand strength and their limping ranges are much stronger than those of non-GTO weak players.

Though I kind of doubt that in weaker games even the people who are aware of GTO limps would follow this, as shortstack dynamics at the weak tables are very different and not really GTO-friendly in this perspective, but in stronger games this possibility should always be considered, and you shouldn't immediately label shortstack limpers as fish.

Also, side note, it doesn't apply to 10BB- limpers, as those should just open-jam 99% of the time. If you have a 10BB- limper and you have a shovable hand, just rejam them, especially if nobody overlimped yet. If you have quite a bit of overlimpers, squeeze with caution, as "shoveable hand" and "hand playable multiway" groups rarely overlap.

it depends a lot on the stack i'm currently in and what kind of limpers are those...
In late stage tournaments I see profiles of limpers, who always call a ISO raise to 3.5-4bbs with 15 ~25bbs , limpers who always folds, and limpers that do the limp-jam strategie...

So I have to adapt to the player limping... This is not something I learned somewhere, its something I do myself to win more against them...

Lets supouse we are in the BTN and we are 25bbs or less, Iso raising with those medium part of range are not so effective, against player who limp jam, or limp calls a lot, but if youhave lets say 50~~60bbs against 20bbs limps, just Iso raise and cbet that in the long run u're going to win more chips...
To this get the most of if TheBLINDS SB and BB should not be very agro players, because if so, if they see u iso raising a lot, they will start to rejam ou more...

So lets resume... to get it easier like ' rules '

- Dont iso jam a lot with 15~25bbs unless player is very limp passive style and on post flop aswell
- When deepstacked against weaker limpers keep Iso raising and cbeting flop.
- If your image in the table is very very agrressive you can't just iso raising, if someone on the table suspects you iso raising trash hands you will get punished.
- In ICM Buble situations exploit the maximum of your opponents bluffing a lot shortstack limpers, they are always triyng to see a cheap flop
