Epic or fail late reg.?

Hey all. Was looking in the tournaments at partypoker to start some myself and then i saw this WPT package with only 4 people left. Was curious and opened it. One guy had a huge advantage in chips against everyone else:

So one had around 72k. One 4k, 3k and 2k. First price WPT500 Pack (850$) and 2nd price ~500$. 2 people late regged probably to snipe the 500$.
Looked a prety great attempt in my eyes. What do you think?
