So I started learning about how to calculate EV on river turn and river as defender and as attacker any of you guys have any tips on how to have a more clear mind ?
As of right now I calculate the percentage that I should win and multiply it for the amount of chips that I win plus the percentage that i would lose multiplyed by the amount of money that i would lose like (0,38X200$)+(0,62X-100$)

I guess looking into the concept of pot odds is much more simple, if I understand your question correctly.

You can also look at the overview I prepared which looks into the maximum bet sizes you can call with a specific holding/draw:

Hope that helps. :)

I'm curious about that too; that's how I usually calculate it. I create a hand range in Equilab—does the ICM effect change these calculations?

Maybe someone stops by here :)

EVH,E =max(EVH,A, EVH,D)

When calculating EV Max, you compare two EVs: the expected value of a fold and the expected value of an all-in.

But is the fold's EV always 0? If so, an SB all-in would always be profitable, so I must be misunderstanding something.

The all-in when lost is minus EV 0 is much better than minus. Solver will show minus EV returns if you have strategy plus EV selected

Yeah, I think I get that. I saw this formula in a book, but I don't understand how the fold EV is calculated. For example, if you're in the blind or the small blind and you fold, is the fold EV -0.5BB?

If you raise to 5BB on the river and your opponent goes all-in, is the fold EV -5? I didn't understand how CallEV and FoldEV are calculated—from which point does FoldEV start?

Fold EV is 0 preflop we do not consider the forced blinds in EV calculation as Expected value is based on the next action.

I am no expert so cannot tell you post flop fold EV calculations

Great contributions to those of us who are new to the world of poker, it's not easy to apply it to the tables.
