Good Tips For Playing Short Stacked?

I can't be the only one who's ever been in this position. I was wondering if anyone has tips for a good short stack game. The point in the game when your stack is considerably smaller than the rest, but it's not time to go all-in on a couple of paints. I was just wondering if anyone has tips that are consistent to rebuilding your stack

Avoid the big stack, now you will hurt your stack to shove to steal the blinds.

Wait for good hand to make All-in... Which cards will be ok? It depends of action, opponents, your position and image on the table.
There is no specific answer to your question.

More games on shortstack and You will know when is the best moment to shove

Ya same here seems like im always short stacked and even if i get two high cards or pair above JJ ..i go all in and get called by high stacked person and lose to Q4..hopefully down the road happens less..gonna keep trying ☺ good luck all..ty

as far as I've tested and analyzed a similar situation that about 80% better with short stacks to play without allana a position to play hands making small raises and calls

Wait for good cards. If it is possible wait for good position too. There is not specific tips. Be patient , when you think cards are good enough go all in.. Avoid limping.. Cheers!

Use in a game only 10%-20% of your total stack.
I'm also playing with a small stack (yeah, student and stuff) and play the little games.
Personally at pokerstars a Spin&go is almost always a win for me, try that for $1?

It depends of how short stacked you want to be, the lowest stack that can be played profitable is 40bb so dont go below that, it is quite easier to play 40bb if youre beginner but it is a bit dificult to switch to 100bb when you get better...

First of all i would define my opening ranges for every position, i would define 3bet for value and 3 bet as bluff ranges for every position and against every position. Postflop when shorter, made hands are in a big advantage against drawing hands so you can often stackoff TPTK on flop when ~40bb you often wont have odds to setmine tho, this is just top of my mind, if youre interested to play mid stack poker i can share more of my experience i played a lot of mss last years

Need to play more aggressive if you have a small stack. But it is not necessary to expand your range.

If you have less than 10 bbs, there is no other play other than to shove. If you have between 10 and 20 bbs, you have a little more scope but any hand you play you need to be prepared to go all in with. I would rather be the aggressor if I'm short stacked and be the one to raise first rather than calling somebody else's raise.

I just really try to minimize my mistakes at all costs, alot more so than early in tourney. I lay down almost anything that's not premium preflop, unless I'm at almost 2 times chip average

always a tough position, does give you some options. Be fearless, use what little you have. Positional poker is key. I think Aggressive tight is a choice for many.

It's a good start. Good to improve from that by studying ICM effects and also modify Nash equilibrium by how opponents play.

Easy answer: 1) Aggressiveness, if you have a good hand don't try to be creative, just play super aggressively; 2) Position, get some value from a solid positional play, every once in a while open garbage hands from CO, BTN, you'll see players lay down; 3) Know your opponents, play the folks not the cards.

Patience. That's the solution.
If you are really short you don't want to wait too much because you could end up being eaten by them blinds but if you have let's say 10BB you could wait a little bit more.
I'd say 22+, A2+, K7+, Q8+, J9+, T9+, 23s+, 56o+ is a good range for short stack but you can adapt it depending on your stack(this one is for really low stack).

Depends what you concider short and who you play.
I've seen people push AJo from UTG with short (~20bb) =)
But the general strategy is fish for hands with good EV mid pairs + high suited connectors (EV calculators will go just fine to know what is what)
1 thing I can say is dont rush it just 'cause you've got 9 bb stack does not meane you have to push 66 out of possition with aggro table... but some times you just might =)

It depends how short you mean. Unless I'm in the blinds I'm usually push or fold with 20BB or less. Attack the medium stacks that are content, be more cautious of the big n little stacks. Unless you have info on an opponent I'm very rarely bluff shoving.
