I start off great but as the game progresses i see others playing bullshits and stacking up on leaderboards so i try to play a little loose due to which im left with low stack and get out early or dont even make it past late reg it has become a habit or happening so often that im feeling frustrated. Suggestions for getting out of these situations are appreciated as for me playing loose is like playing any aces and off suit broadways like hand and my range is mostly top pairs, suited ace highs, suited broadways and suited connectors

This is the problem. Playing loose and getting paid when you hit the nuts is an art. If you're playing 5 tournaments at one time then playing like this can result in 1 big stack in one tournament.

If you're like me then that tournament is the one with the lowest payouts!

Stop it!

Get out of the habit.

I refer you back to my post in your other thread...

You need to know when you can be aggressive or passive

Just cashed out for min $5.77 after being on 4th with 305k chips i was on button and went all in preflop against a high stack (almost 50k more chips than mine) who had A10s and a short stack who had KJos with my AQos and ended up getting out at 103 i guess it sucked A10 guy won and became the chip leader its nasty how luck kicks in after certain phases
Yes this loks like luck, and without knowing blinds of posistion.

However, here is your learing point of the day, don't mess with the bigger stacks when you are also a very big stack. You still have just under 30% chance to lose when you dominate a hand like this.....thats actually pretty likely.....and this is why you need to be tighter than this in this spot. Possibly QQ plus only, maybe AKs

You don't have to be right every hand.....you can just fold and move on to a hand where its easier to win chips.....say blind on blind against a short to middle size stack

If you already know, what the winning strategy is, then why does it affect your decision to watch other players make mistakes, get lucky and build a big stack? This statement is like saying "I know, selling drugs is illegal and might put me in jail, but I watch other people do it and get rich, so maybe I should do it as well". The issue here is survivorship bias.

You dont see the drug dealers, who are already in jail, and you also dont see the loose risk taking players, who busted from the tournament. You only see the small minority, who got lucky this time and build a big stack, and therefore you draw the false conclusion, that excessive risk taking with bad odds is the way to succeed in poker tournaments.

Tournaments are like a marathon — you have to start by conserving energy, then pick up the pace in the middle, and finally give it everything you've got at the end to try and win. But most of the time, you bust out, because that’s just variance.
What I do is break the tournament down into three stages. In the early phase, I play a very tight range to build credibility and protect my chips. In the middle stage, it depends on my stack size, but in general I still play a fairly tight range.
In the final phase, once I’m already in the money, I don’t mind taking bigger risks, because the real payouts are usually in the top spots.
That said, I’m still learning — so the key is not to give up and keep moving forward. That’s what makes this game fun: you can always start again. :)

Clearly the most effective way to make it past late reg would be joining the tournament within the last minute (and/or seconds) before late reg closes ...

Is it better to do so? Or play tight from beggining till late reg ends and build up your stack?

I mean, if you're a losing player, then it's better to start late because you'll lose fewer chips. If you're a winning player, it's better to start early.

Play somewhat tighter preflop against loose aggressive players, because your strong hands get extra equity when they hit against someone who is too aggressive and will inflate the pot with crap most of the time, while you have to be ready to call most of the streets, which ruins the potential of all sorts of marginal hands. Hands with good implied odds also work for obvious reasons if the stacks are deep enough and the opponent is careless. Postflop you should generally underfold if you have pairs. But, I remind you, only do all of that if you have a GOOD read on your opponent.

On 888 there is a Mystery Bonuty tournament, which I can always enter later, so I'm already in with 10-20 BB, but I save 2 hours:D and in tournaments I also throw 3-4 balls to double my stack, I play more aggressively because I don't want to be there when the bounty is activated with less chips if I manage to raise it my stack, I try to avoid players with higher stacks, with smaller chips they will be calmer and I don't risk getting knocked out, but I'm not sure this is a good strategy:)

I read somewhere that "THE KEY TO POKER IS AGRESSION, BUT THE SECRET TO POKER IS FOLDING" and that stuck in my mind, I even wrote that on a page to never forget. Sometimes you just have to fold.
