You had 50bb preflop? I.e. 50x the straddle. I dont think you should generally fold a set for 50bb even though the spot kind of sucks.

I would have made a 3x open instead of just completing. As he could have any two cards there are potentially 32 straight combos you lose to - maybe river is a fold then. Actually yes i fold river unless i know villain is wild

Preflop
I guess, there is some argument for limping from the middle blind in a 3 blind configuration, because the folded SB add a bit of dead money. I would not hate a raise either though.

Flop
Great flop obviously, and since you unblock anything, that can continue, I would go large here. It could even be a spot to overbet, because the pot is so small due to your preflop limp.

Turn
I think, your sizing is fine on this street, but when he raise, my mindset shift from getting value to thinking, you are probably behind and drawing to a full house. The reason is, that because of preflop he can have all 32 combos of turned straights, and what else is he even raising? Just calling a flushdraw on the flop, and now raising a larger turn bet? That seems kind of unlikely. Maybe he is raising T8 or T7, but there are less combos of those compared to J9 and 96. So I am never 3-betting here, but I also dont think, you can fold.

River
I dont think, T8 or T7 pile it in on a K, so now you are pretty much only beating a bluff, and there are still 32 combos of J9 and 96, that you lose to. There is an old saying "never go broke in a limped pot", which I think apply here. So I would fold and live to fight another hand.

Ok, so it would seem that this guy picked a very good place to airball bluff based on my actions.

I will use larger bet sizes next time.

Its probably not based on your actions, he just decided it was the time to blast off or maybe that you didnt have much Tx. Did you fold then?

No, I called and he had air. Q6o. He was looking for the 9 on the river.

I would fold. Villain might have J9 or 96.

If you open raised instead of limped it wouldn't be such a difficult position.
