My 1/3 live vs 50NL online experiment – 3 month results

I played 200 hours live 1/3 and 50000 hands online 50NL to compare.

Live 1/3 results:
$18 per hour
Won 12 of 20 sessions
Biggest loss $800
Biggest win $2100

Online 50NL results:
$11 per hour
Won 14 of 22 sessions
Biggest loss $150
Biggest win $380

What I noticed:
Live players call too much but they also chase draws perfectly against me
Online players fold better but they make huge timing tells preflop

My question:
Is live worth the extra drive time and higher variance?
Or should I just grind online and accept the lower hourly?

Online is that only single tabling?

Also how long/far is the drive? Another thing that would matter to me is how the other players you gotta play with? By that mean are they decent avg normal people, easy going, can carry a decent discussion or is the majority just a bunch a miserable douchebags and assholes not worth talking too?

To me if you gotta travel 30+ mins and play with a bunch a miserable douchebags you're going to have to pay more that an extra lousy $7/hour. The wear tear on your car+gas alone is over $7. Maybe you can just add another table online and make up that $7, most of it or maybe more. Most likely thou you can even study/improve and make up that $7 while sitting home in your underwear(if you prefer) playing. Joke aside before you even answer any of my questions I'm lean heavily towards underwear poker at home. Also how much you spending on drinks, food and other stuff when you go play live? More then $7 worth by a bit I'll bet.

Maybe make a trip once a month or so to play live so you keep in the flow of live play as it's differs from online quite a bit and you never know when your state/country will put an end to online poker. Best to keep your live game fresh in your mind.

Whats your bb/100? You could probably move up in stakes both live and online. So what games arw available is also a conaideration

200 hours live is only around 6.000 hands, which is way to little to get anywhere near your true long term results. Other factors to consider is, if you have enough bankroll to play the live $1/$3 game, and how inconvenient it is for you to go to the casino. Finally why does it need to be either/or? Maybe there are some evenings, where you can only play for 1-2 hours, and then for sure it makes more sense to stay at home and just log on to your favourite site.
