Hi cody , I'll give you my opinion on this spot , hope it helps in future :icon_sant
So you're in BB with ducks , 2 guys limp , button raises , you decide to call , and other 2 players calls aswell , cause they have good odds to make a call .
Flop comes , and you flopped botttom set . It gets checked all the way .
I like idea of setting a trap here , I probably wouldnt play it like that . OK .
Turn comes , there are no flushes or straights on board , you check again and try to set up the trap again , villain bets 2/3 of pot , everyone folds , you call . Why didnt you raise here ? Trap was set and one opponent has fallen into it , seems to me its great spot to reraise , and even would be prepared to go all-in , if game dictates it .I wouldnt be afraid of bigger sets , would you ? You call . OK . Not a terrbile mistake , but I still woulnt play it like that .
River comes , and you have a full boat . You check again , guy bets little more then half pot , and you shove . I dont like that play at all , since you've played it passively every street , but its still not a biggie , u have a boat , and want to make sure he's there with you . He calls , and shows you better boat , and you lose . Again , you didnt played it horribly , you just got unlucky , it happens ...
Now this is how I would played that hand m8 ...
Lets say preflop play is OK , flop comes and I flopped bottom set . I would lead out here right away (donkbet) , not giving them any chance of hitting , aad if possible try to take it out right here . Why ? Cause if anyone of those 3 has an ace or pair from 88-KK, he's probably gonna call you , or if he's maniac he'll even raise you in that spot , in which case I would call , check the turn and raise them there after they bet, and be prepared to go all in if happens .
Lets say he calls flop , and turn comes . with no straights or flushses here , I would lead again , not giving them chance to get there and outdraw your set , and also would be prepared to go all in .
Now river comes , you have a boat , and its no brainer , bet again , he raises and I call .
Hand would end the same way and I would have lost . But the way I played the hand , I wouldnt have much of a choice , and it would be a cooler . OK it happens , next hand :icon_sant
In my opinion , I would rather take smaller pot on earlier streets ,then lose a big one on showdown !
this is just my humble opinion , again I like you setting the trap 3 times , I know I would fall into in with an A , for sure !
Hope it helped m8 :icon_sant
