Also, rush lets you control the depth of your stack a lot better. you can play really deep after a while if you want, but you can also rathole at any time and sit right back up.

No need to table select, no waiting lists, no table breaking up, sitout at any time if you want to review a hand/take a piss, ...

And volume wise, playing 4 tables of rush gives you about as many hands/hour as 12 normal tables. But it's easier to focus on 4 tiled rush tables than on 12 normal tables that you can't really tile properly.

The problem is that all the regs like the convenience of rush, so the games are tougher than the normal tables for the same stakes.

So do you have a decent winrate over a large sample?

Also, I have heard that Rush is a nitfest. Is that true?

Does that mean fold, fold, fold, get premium hand, shove?

No, i'm roughly break-even over a 300k hands sample at 100nl of something like that. Up quite a bit with rakeback, obviously. But I'm a fish.

It's a bit tighter than normal games, but no, it's not a nitfest.

The regs play essentially the same game that they would play on normal tables. The fishes probably play a bit tighter than they would on normal tables, and there are a few less fishes too, so overal the games are a bit tighter, but nothing spectacular.

Does that mean fold, fold, fold, get premium hand, shove?

LOL, no.

LOL, no.

So, by your own best guess what do you think a reasonable WR for you @ 100nl FR might be over 300k hands???

that would be considered solid indeed. And at 1000 hands per hour, that's $40/hour, plus $10 to $15 in rakeback.

The real bitch is the daily $1000 swings around that $40/hour average, though...

Guess fx decided to give Rush a try after all. :)

Probably not but it doesn't hurt to know about it. Also my FT BR is at zero so I'd have to re-deposit or transfer, neither of which are likely scenarios at this point. I do have a litle over 11,000 FT points sitting in my account that I still don't know what to do with. Is selling them a realistic option? As I can't say playing tournaments has any appeal to me at all.

It was a joke.

Not much you can do with 11K points except play a few smaller tourneys. You can't sell them outright and you don't have enough to really get anything for anyone (that's how points are sold).

do you know what the going rate for FT points is? Also is there a 2+2 forum to rade/ buy/sell?

unrelated: I thought I read that Owen Gaines has a poker strategy book coming out. True?

The only way to sell points is to buy something with them, send it to the person who wants it and they ship the money.

11k points isn't enough to buy anything anyone wants.

As WV just said.

Don't know why I'm answering as you seem to be incapable of comprehending what I'm writing but yes Owen has a new book out now. It's called Hole Card Confessions and it's all about hand reading and the appropriate actions to take against different ranges. I have read it. It is very well written and and is certainly worth the $30 or whatever. I actually plan to write a full review on the book one of these days but I've been sick for the last week or so and just haven't felt up to it. Maybe tomorrow I'll get it done.

Buy step 3 ticket, play $26 matrix if they have been brought back from limbo.

Alternatively, Deposit $2k, play 100nl rush, earn 50k points in less than 100 days, become black card member and buy cash bonus with your points.

Might have to ask for that for my birthday, hand reading is a part of my game i would really like to get better at. How do you lot who are good at hand reading practise, if you practise at all that is?

Like do you use Flopzilla/stox or anything in the process for narrowing down their ranges? Do you have a set way about reviewing your play and practise it then?

Oh and WV, how noob friendly is the book? :) thanks

Book is very "noob friendly" and goes very well with his 1st book "Poker Math That Matters". The actual ranging part is in the 1st book (along with all the math type stuff). This book is about starting with that range and narrowing it down based on actions, board texture, tendencies, etc. and then how do we best respond against that narrowed (hopefully) range.

I don't know if you're familiar with Owen's stuff (QTip here at CC and DTB) but he's got a very simple and easy to follow approach to teaching poker. If you haven't already done so at least check out the video's he has done for CC.

Do you have the bathrobe already? If not, it's a no brainer to order it.

Jeez you really like your FT bathrobe. I've just ordered one because it seems that your posting about it the whole time.

Better be balla.
