My casino trips

My best friend and I go to Harrah's once a month to have fun. She only plays slots - I mostly play slots because that is how I get my Caesars Diamond status. But I also love to play blackjack and some other table games like 3 card poker.

This weekend's trip they ran a promotion with a 5x tier credit multiplier so I had to play only slots. Every machine I touched turned my money to ashes except for the last one I played - which might be my new favorite. It is called Buffalo Ascension. I won back a little bit of the money I had lost and got to play it for awhile which is good for my reward credits.

I played one machine for 30 minutes and had forgotten to put my card in - I was so mad lol.

My friend hit over $600 on one of her machines so she left ahead - I did not.

My next gambling will happen on the cruise I leave on this Friday. I will play mostly blackjack this time as it is not a Caesars casino so rewards don't matter. I will post an update when I get back!

My biggest slot win was in Vegas year before last - I won $1900 on the Wicked Wheel. Still chasing the monster win - which may or may not ever happen lol.

I have won approximately $1k several times.

Our monthly trips are to Murphy because they are just day trips and it is only about an hour and 45 minutes from us. They are in the middle of renovating - can't wait until it is done. I have been told by dealers it will have a small poker room, so it will probably be mostly cash games which I don't really have any interest in. But if they ever have tournaments I am in! I can get a free room there any time.

Cherokee is bigger and better - but another hour and 10 minutes away. That is just too much driving time when we only stay for about 4 hours. I can get free rooms there Sun-Thurs but Fri and Sat are usually about $400 a night - so no thanks. Other hotels around it are old and at $200 a night just not worth the value. I usually go to Cherokee when I can take time off and play in Circuit events. It is actually cheaper or at least as cheap to go to Vegas for a week.

We have arrived in Miami! The weather is amazing. We went for a walk - we are right in the city and there are a lot of places to choose to eat - I think we are going for Chinese.

But first - a stop at happy hour in the hotel bar.

We are supposed to board the ship at 4pm tomorrow but will probably get there earlier. We should be able to get in the casino around 6pm - just in time to play a bit before our 8:30 dinner at the Italian restaurant.

And holy crap at the free stuff we are getting on this cruise! We got extra for booking it while on our last cruise, then we got bonuses because our first dates were cancelled - and for some reason last week they added more.

We have $1200 in free drinks - and I barely drink lol. We will be sharing that with Jessa (our granddaughter) and Angel (her mom).

We have $1200 in free sailor loot - and that can be used to buy anything on the ship - and it includes playing in the casino. So we get $600 each for free for blackjack and slots. We did bring a little of our own money as well. It is an 8 day cruise so let's see how long the free money lasts lol.

Going well so far! I put $100 in slots and cashed out $100 so okay with that. I used cash money for that.

I used $100 cash on the blackjack table and cashed out $130.

Then I got $300 of the "sailor loot" which is free money and turned that into $300 real cash. The way the sailor loot works is that it has no cash value but you can place bets with it and be paid your winnings in real money chips. (which can then be cashed in for real money).

So the $130 will go into my slot fund, giving me $230 to play with today on slot machines. (That represents $200 cash out of pocket for the trip so far).

And I have $300 to use on blackjack which has cost me nothing. I also still have $300 left in sailor loot.

When I stop sharing with you how I am doing on slots it means I am losing LOL.

Today is an at sea day. I have had a leisurely morning in the cabin and will head out for an early lunch today, We ate at the Italian restaurant last night, It is bit too fancy Italian for me but we had a lot of food to choose from.

The casino will open around 12-12:30 I think. I am not much into hanging out at the pool so will split the day between the casino, eating and playing games in the game room I love shuffleboard so Joe and I will play that a lot this week. I also like Pac-man and Space Invaders - plus they have loads of board games and we all love those,

I will watch that when I get home - the wifi on the ship is a bit dodgy for downloading videos.

I learned my lesson about gambling the first time I went and have never spent more than I can spend since then. I use my own discretionary income and I view it as fun and entertainment expense.

Last night I used $150 of the sailor's loot playing blackjack and quit once it was all gone. So I still have $150 in sailor's loot and the $300 I won with it for blackjack.

I put $150 in slot machines and cashed out $180, so I have that plus the other $60 left from the day before. So $240 left for slot machines.

All of this and I have only spent a total of $200 cash out of pocket so far which is below my budget for the week.

Today we are in the Dominican Republic. We will get off the ship around 10-11am and go for a wander in town.

I am probably about even on my cash - which means I think I have used all of the free sailor's loot now.
