Yes, my grandmother. when she still was alive she lost huge amounts on slots. Money that she was not supposed to lose.

I don’t know them, but they’re all over the news (at least here in the Philippines). Who in their right mind loses hundreds of millions of pesos from taxpayers’ money? 🤯

Like bingo, Slot machines especially, attract a lot of old ladies.

My landlord once was one of them. "Luckily" for her, there was a bus that stopped just around the corner, collecting many ladies like her and taking them to Atlantic City. She wouldn't miss it for anything. Many times she would knock at my door asking for a 100 or $200 and saying that she was feeling lucky that day .

I have known a few people who like to gamble a bit more than they can afford to lose.

Knew a guy who would pawn things to get enough for the next poker game.

I know few people in my neighbourhood who are addicted to gambling but not at casinos. Over there they play offline games like Andar Bahar at private places. I actually know someone who played this, lost a lot, created a lot of debts and suicided. What a shame.

My granddaughter‘s boyfriend was addicted to craps at the casino because he started winning a lot but he finally got smart and realized to take a break when he started losing instead of giving all back all the money he won..
