One of the advantages of playing poker tournaments is that one knows the cost ahead of time.

If the tournament costs $100 then that is what you will spend (or invest) into the tournament. Maybe add ons? Ok, now $120. Maybe lunch? Ok. Now $140

Do you set limits on casino games including poker cash games?

When going to play a tournament, I'd take with me the cost of the buy-in plus whatever I need for other expenses.
For cash games, I always take enough for 2 bullets.
But I learned not to take the bank cards with me.

I don't spend much time in casinos but I would absolutely have a spending limit, if you don't then you can easily find yourself trying to win back what you've lost when you're in the hole and the hole keeps getting deeper and deeper.

Having a strict and firm mindset of "I have $400 to play with, win or lose, once that's gone I'm going to get up and walk out and not drop a penny more" will keep you out of a lot of trouble.

Yes, I always have a spending limit for an evening or a session. I always set aside a certain amount and never spend more than that. This is a rule I never break. Life has taught me not to break my own rules because it costs too much :)

When I go to a casino, I take with me only as much money as I plan to spend and no more. This is because I always find it difficult to stop. And when my pockets are empty, I easily stop by default :)

I always set limits at gambling games , either we talk about poker or casino slots or sports betting or anything else . I don't like the uncontrollably tilty moments when you play more than you initially planned for and then lose it all . I have been there when I started playing poker , I can truthfully admit that it sucked . So yeah , the last year's I have strict brm , very strict . The same applies for poker and casino and everything else

I always set a limit for myself before I go out to play. I usually spend no more than $30 per evening. Playing without a clear limit is quite risky, there can be unpredictable consequences. Therefore, setting a limit is a necessity for our safety.

Yeah, that’s one thing I like about tournaments too, you know the total cost upfront. For cash games and other casino games I definitely set limits. If I don’t, it’s way too easy to keep dipping back in. Having a stop-loss and a time limit keeps things under control.

I only played at online casinos 🎰, but I usually don't think about the limit. I guess I feel excited to play to the last)

I spend the money I win playing poker. If I have a good week, I can spend $50 on the weekend. If I have a bad week, I just won't play. But I have a limit anyway and I try not to exceed it.

Yes, I always set myself a limit for gambling. I don't gamble without limits, it's bad for your health :)

We do try to set a limit but.... When you see all the lights flashing and machines manipulating you you just get carried away and unknowingly you pass the limit.

I always set a limit when I go to a casino and I'm actually doing it for both losing and winning... Bankroll management is very important and especially live there can be a few more factors that can influence you to go outside your comfort zone, but you should always have patience and be disciplined and most of the time good preparation/planning will eventually get rewarded 💰💰💰

Yes setting a limit is an important part of my game, I always have a set limit when I go in, It varies from time to time.
On the loss side , If I lose 3/4 of what I walk in the door with i'm done with very few exceptions, thats why the 3/4 in case I see an opportunity to invest the other 1/4. I also have a limit on how much I win, sound silly? How many times have you been up a good amount , then within a couple hours you are losing ? I set it at 3/4 of what i walk in with.

If i go in with $1000.00 , lose $750.00 I'm done for that session. Same with winnings, go in with $1000.00, i'm up to $1750.00 I'm leaving a winner. There are a few exceptions that will cause me to break this limit. but very few.

Peace
Tony
