Yo guys,

I finally did it. After a pretty dry run since the holidays, I just locked in my first handpay of 2026! It’s only my second one ever, so my heart was absolutely racing when the screen locked up and that 'Call Attendant' light started flashing.

I saw a similar post on r/gambling where someone was celebrating their big win. There’s really no feeling like sitting there waiting for the slot tech to come over with the paperwork while everyone walking by stares at your screen with pure envy.

I was playing a $1.00 denom Dragon Link (standard, I know, but it pays) and hit the Grand on a $10.00 bet. Total win was just north of $13k.

Question for the veterans: Do you guys tip the attendant a flat fee, or a percentage? I never know what the etiquette is for a $10k+ win. Also, do I take the check or the cash? Walking to the garage with this much 'cheese' makes me a little nervous!"

That’s awesome congratulations! I like to tip on the amount! So in Vegas $1250 is a hand pay so if it’s 1261.50 I’ll give the 11.50 if it’s $2225 I’ll give the $25! Share the wealth those folks don’t make a killing in wags good luck will come back around

Congrats! I have only had one small hand pay and I tipped a flat amount. I wasn't sure what to do, but 5-10% seems excessive to me. I gave them $50, I just don't get why we are tipping them. They are not like waiters, waitresses, etc who have below minimum wage jobs. They are well paid casino employees.

You are in Ireland where I have spent a lot of time. I am surprised you guys' tip at all for something like this to be honest.

Congrats! Great result!!!!

Sounds exciting!
20 years ago I'd take the cash & almost welcome or dare anyone to approach me on the way to my car. Now... can somebody hold onto that cheque for me while I struggle out to my vehicle with my walker.

I only tip when I win something and only when the service was up to standard. I don't win very often, so I rarely tip. I can't say how much I tip, it all depends on how successful the day was.
