Michael Mizrachi, aka 'The Grinder' will be a special guest at the World Tournament of slots this year at Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas, which is hosted by the social gambling slot company Playstudios. This event is officially known as the 2025 myVIP World Tournament of Slots, now in its second year. The Poker Palace Casino, which was opened in 1951, has been sold to Truckee Gaming for more than $20 million. And lastly, a slots player in Las Vegas hit a progressive jackpot for a whopping $1,048,675.87 playing IGT's Wheel of Fortune Cash Link Big Money. The player turned a $3 bet into more than a million at Sunset Station Casino.

The good ole wheel of fortune just keeps going.

I think the big jackpots are what makes it the most successful slot machine in history.

Big scores on a slot machine like this one get lots of publicity...that's what keeps people playing slots, which is why slots are usually a casino's biggest money maker.

Once again an individual that I had to google to find out who he is
But I would assume that the "slot crowd" is not that hyped from his precense, since the only common thing between them is  casinos ??? Or am I missing something here?
I would be more hyped from Sloths ;)

the World Tournament of Slots this year at Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas,

I admit not having ever heard of a Slots tournament!
I assume that the players would start with the same amount of money or chips. But I'm wondering if they would play on the same kind of machine or choose whichever one they want!? And since they can't be playing against each other, how could it be fair that if a player down the aisle gets a lucky streak could be declared a winner?

Most slot tournaments have the same make of slot machine in a segregated area...maybe 30 or so machines. 30 people play one 3 minute round...then the next group of 30 play, etc. until all players have played their first round. The top 100 or so go on to the second round and you keep playing until there is enough players for each machine. One final round determines the winners. The play is more based on speed than any kind of skill, although stamina plays a factor. It is not that easy to hit the play button twice per second for the full 3 minutes...with your other hand, there are bonus targets to hit. It is actually quite tiring...strategy, which might entail switching hands every minute or so to maintain max speed...let's just say that younger athletic people do better than I do at 72 years of age. While all the machines are the same make, some will have different bonus structures programmed into them, so luck of the draw (machine) is also important to winning.

How are those top 100 declared. Do they have more money than the others?

I'd say so, since I didn't have the slightest idea about that.

they would be the top 100 scores...no money is paid out during play, only prizes at the end of the tourney.
