I was thinking about this after a trip I made years ago.

While working abroad I ended up playing at Casino Island Club in Valsayn, Trinidad.
I’m from the Midlands in the UK, so that was roughly 4,300 miles / 6,900 km just to sit down and take a shot on the tables:rolleyes:

It got me wondering…

What’s the furthest you’ve ever travelled specifically to play at the casino?
Was it planned around the casino, or just something you stumbled into while travelling?
And did the game feel different compared to home — players, atmosphere, stakes, rules?

Curious to hear some stories. I’m guessing I’m not the only one who’s logged some serious miles for a session 😄

My longest trip so far has been a holiday from Vienna to Las Vegas, which is roughly 5,600 miles (9,000 km). It was quite an adventure—crossing continents, dealing with long flights, and finally arriving in the city that never sleeps. I spent some bucks in the casinos, of course, but I also made sure to explore the surrounding natural wonders. Visiting national parks and the Grand Canyon was absolutely incredible—the views were truly breathtaking and made the whole trip unforgettable.

The furthest have ever travelled specifically to play at the casino is almost 3000 km to Singapore. T'was planned around the casino for me whilst family's vacation. Played 3 nights with decent wins on the first 2 nights then lost all & more on the last. Should have quit whilst ahead. ROFL.

When I started playing poker, it was only online, I was itching and very curious to play live but there were no casino's around. After a long period I saw a post, a love cash tournament happening in 3 days in our capital City, so I decided to go
It was a 5 hour drive, Couldn't miss the opportunity, when I got there, the event was cancelled, meaning it was all for nothing, but I don't regret it though

I have|never gone to a land based casino , in the| past because I didn't trust casinos , especially in Greece , but nowadays simply because I play very little money , I have control . I have [he feeling that if I go to a casino I will lose control , start playing and losing a lot

This reminds me, I was booked up to visit Vegas back in 2010(?), for a friend's wedding, but the Volcanic cloud from Iceland ("Eyjafjallajökull", say that 3 times fast) put paid to that as my flight was cancelled as I wasn't able to get another one in time:cry:.

My friend's wedding went ahead (minus a few guests) but Vegas is still on my to do list(y)(y)

Mine would be when I was on a work trip to California. I played at Oceans 11 and Pechanga so that would be about 2600+ miles from home.

Around 600 miles from Northern California to Las Vegas, back before I had multiple tribal casinos right in my back yard.

Back in the 1980s and 1990s, Reno was the go-to destination for gambling but they've diversified their economy away from casinos and the gambling market there is not much more than an afterthought now compared to Las Vegas.
