The game of poker isn't just about winning chips 💰, it's about mastering life skills 🎓.

Whether it's decision making, reading people, or managing risk, the lessons you learn at the poker table can translate to real life.

Have you ever applied poker strategies to everyday situations?

There is a group of female business leaders and poker players who teach poker skills to businesses for that very reason:

Poker Power

There are a lot of poker skills that can be beneficial in your life - making tough decisions under pressure, money management and reading other people are just a few.

I edit my reply since I overlooked your comment. I agree with you when it comes to split decision. We can apply the statistics and probability.

For sure! Poker involves aspects of discipline and emotional control so comprehensively that few activities compare.
Lots of learning for life.

Poker is great for risk/reward decisions - change my oil for 59 bucks or risk blowing up an engine.

Also good for teaching patience - use this a lot on the golf course. Don't let one bad shot ruin your day.

Absolutely! As a poker player, I've found that the skills I've learned at the table have helped me in so many areas of my life. For example, when making important decisions, I often use the same analytical approach I use when evaluating my hand in a game of poker. I also find myself paying closer attention to body language and nonverbal cues when interacting with others, just as I do when trying to read my opponents at the table.

And perhaps most importantly, poker has taught me the importance of managing risk. In both poker and life, taking calculated risks can lead to great rewards, but it's important to know when to fold and when to push forward. By learning to manage risk in poker, I've become more comfortable with taking calculated risks in other aspects of my life.

Overall, I believe that poker is much more than just a game. It's a way to develop valuable skills that can help you succeed in all areas of your life. Have you found poker skills to be helpful outside of the game as well

In my opinion, we all have abilities that are a reflection of our personality, and that is what will instruct us on how to act, whether in real life or in poker. In real life it's very important to be attentive, to know how to observe, to know how to choose, but in poker I believe it's the same thing. In the life of being aggressive, for example, it will have two consequences, or they will be afraid of us or they will face us, but it will have consequences. In poker it is just a game, and at worst we will just be eliminated. Therefore, despite the similarity in attitudes, the consequences are different

Absolutely agree with this. Skills we use in life will help us in poker and skills we learn in poker will help us as well. There are skills I have learned in poker that has helped me at work many times.

It is also a great tool to use to teach children. Both my children are in advanced math. How did they get there start? Poker. We used the chips to count. Then we went to addition, subtraction and on and on.

That is so cool. I had heard there were places like this, but this is the 1st time I got to check one out. Excellent.

Agree completely and would add in my opinion most decent/good business managers would also make good poker players overall if they decided to and worked on their game. I think being a good/decent manager has helped make me a winning player and vice versa. I think learning and improving my poker skills over the years has in turn improved me as a manager and as a person in general.

Then again some of us might be like fine wine and improve with age. Getting wiser as we get older even if we are just big a kids at heart .

Cheers!!!

Yes, poker skills will come in handy in life, especially the patience you have developed in poker over a long time playing poker, making a decision to teach opponents thoughts and actions, they all happen in life on different occasions

I have used my observation skills in my job to read people who are lying or uncomfortable so I knew when to ask more questions beyond the story they were telling. I could see changes in their body language and facial expressions.
