I mostly stick to one main game, NLHE. I’ve tried other variants like PLO, but I realized that if I really want to improve, it’s better not to split my focus too much.
I’ll still play some Omaha for fun now and then, but Hold’em is where I feel the depth of the game and real long-term progress.

I like playing other types of poker, but it's a shame there are so few places to play.

Love 8 game and HORSE but very difficult to multi-table playing these as you need to closely follow the action to make sure you know what's been shown, which cards have been folded i.e. which cards are showing that would help your own hand. If I'm multi-tabling I stick to NLHE.

I always enjoy playing Omaha. It's a shame that poker rooms pay so little attention to this variant, as it is no less valuable than Texas Hold'em. As for the other variants, I don't really like playing them.

I agree, Omaha definitely deserves more attention. It’s such an action-packed and strategic variant, and it’s a shame that many poker rooms don’t support it as much as Hold’em. I also feel like once you really get into Omaha, the other formats don’t feel as fun anymore. Hopefully we’ll see more rooms expand their Omaha offerings in the future
I’ve been practicing Omaha and like the thought involved with it. Reminds me a lot of the days when 7 Card Stud was the game. :)

When I don't have time to sign up for a tournament, I sign up for other variants, for example Holdem paying for tickets of $c. 0.80 minimum

I like to play badugi, and 2-7 draw but there aren't many tournaments in that modality, or at least one or two dollars which is what I currently play.

I do occasionally play PLO but it`s not a game I can just just drop in & out of. If I play it, I will play it solely for a week or for a few days consecutively.

I only enjoy playing Texas Hold'em. For me, it's the best poker variant. Direct and objective. Total concentration. It's everything I need and it satisfies me.

Besides the traditional No-Limit Texas Hold'em (NLH), I enjoy some variations of Omaha, as well as the pineapple variant.

In fact, I find many poker variations interesting, but maximizing and improving them requires constant practice.

But generally, between my NLH games, I tend to have one or at most two tables of Omaha.

Do you only play NLHE, or do you mix it up with PLO, Stud, H.O.R.S.E., etc.?
I feel like trying other variants can really open your mind as a player.
I don't try to broaden my horizons because I don't see the need for it. On the contrary, I try to hone my skills in only one game, which I believe is the most promising for me. I don't see the point in spreading my attention and resources across anything else. I play for money, so I play with focus and consistency, moving step by step towards my goal.

I’ll play PLO fairly regularly. It forces you to respect equity, redraws, and position way more than NLH. You stop overvaluing one pair hands real quick, and it tightens up your discipline in hold’em.

Well, I mix but most of the time I play the 4-card plot but I also like bounty tournaments although there I have not had an even greater success experience

I think that at most two styles of poker is good, more than that you end up not getting good at any mode because poker requires study and practice, which makes it difficult in several different ways

It's always fun to play other poker variants. But if I were to put the percentages I play, it would be like this:
90% Texas Hold'em
9% Omaha
1% other

I’m mostly an NLHE player, but I do mix in other variants from time to time, especially PLO and occasionally mixed games. Playing different formats definitely opens your mind it improves hand reading, pot control, and makes you more aware of equity rather than just hand strength. Even if you stay focused on Hold’em, experimenting with other games can sharpen your overall poker thinking and help you avoid playing on autopilot.

Most players specialize in a single variant. Why?
Each variant has very different strategies. This allows them to:
– Study more effectively
– Adjust better to opponents
– Reduce variance
– Optimize their win rate

For example:
A NL Hold’em cash game player rarely mixes in tournaments.
An MTT grinder usually plays only tournaments (although at different buy-ins).
In PLO, players almost always focus exclusively on Omaha.

I tried playing Omaha and liked it, but I still prefer Texas Hold’em. On PokerStars you can find a lot of different poker variants.
