I think each one has it's pros and cons, but I lean towards online. There's something invaluable about playing from the convenience of home.

I agree with you. Playing at home is very comfortable. I have a huge TV to which my PC is connected and playing at home while lying on the sofa on huge tables is very cool :)

I have to be honest, I like to see my opponents eyes when I am playing, It has been said that your eyes are the windows to your soul, and I am a believer of that, I can get lot of information from the way another player looks at his cards or sees the flop! Something you don't get playing on-line.
Also the whole atmosphere changes in a Live game, there is nothing like walking into a Casino for the first time, I have visited a few and I still get a buzz, even in the ones I have been to before, There just seems to be something magical about it. Like you are entering an Arena to take part in some kind of battle. Which of course is true, a battle of wits!
On-line Poker is fine, but will never replace the real thing, and many poker sites strive to emulate Live playing , Like PKR.com where you had Avatars sat around the table and you had full control over their emotions, Even PokerStars have tried Virtual Poker where you sit at home and wear Goggles to play and can look around the Table at your opponents. But I believe we are still far from having that real Live game experience, sat at home.
Maybe One Day!

Since I like being around people, I prefer live poker, but online poker also has its certain advantages.

I prefer online poker because I save a lot of time and can play several tables at once. However, I've never played live poker in a poker club, so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I hope to try it in the future.

I prefer to play online so I can play multiple games at once, but sometimes I need to play live, it gives a different feeling.

I prefer live over online as well. You will play a lot more hands online, so it would make sense that bad-beats and coolers will happen more and also the main difference between live and online poker is one thing: tells. You don't get tells online. It's more of a math game (although Poker Tracker does take a lot of the guesswork out of it these days. It tells you how someone plays at a glance).

I rather play online, its much faster and you can multi-table.

Live is much slower and you have to worry about live tells.

After having been away for very long from live poker, I’m too used to online and now live seems intimidating

It's true that my experiences in person are much less interesting than yours, I would have to travel a lot to find casinos where poker is played regularly. Unfortunately, casinos in my area focus on slots. I guess that influences the way I see it.
But, reading what you say about the atmosphere, makes me want to try it. You managed to convey the feeling very well.

That's totally true, there is much less downtime, and everything happens faster.
And I guess live tells can be compared to software in online poker. Neither is perfect but they both have their own thing.

playing small stakes live mtt sucks. The structures are mostly turbo and hyper. You can't find a decent game for less than 150 dollars. You're often playing 10 handed.

Online poker offers good games for a range of 5 - 11 dollars. You can multi table. You can play shirtless.

I play poker at home, sometimes at work if I'm not too busy. Sometimes I played poker on the road (but not while driving). I would like to play in live tournaments, but for now, in the city where I live, I do not have such an opportunity.

I haven't had the opportunity to play poker offline yet, I hope that next year I'll be able to win a ticket, but it's going to be complicated

When I want to play with my friends I prefer playing in person for low stakes, but when I want to play big tournaments I prefer PokerStars.

For now I play only online which is pretty convenient but at some stage I think I will love to in person games as well as I think it is a completely different atmosphere.

I haven't tried playing live yet.
I like playing online because of the convenience of being able to play anywhere. Once I was stuck in chaotic traffic on a bus. Unbearable heat... So I thought, I'm going to play Poker to relax. I opened 888Poker and started playing $1 Blast. On the third play the draw brought a $100 pot. Everyone won! $10, $20 and for the 1st $70. I won the $70. It was very crazy. I was on the bus winning $70 on a sunny morning... Only online Poker can do that.
But I'm curious about playing live. I have a brother-in-law (he's the one who brought me to Poker) who always plays. One day I'll go with him.

I definitely prefer playing live/in person.

But sometimes you just cannot beat the convenience/volume of online play

Its like ying and yang for me, live play is so much more enjoyable and has extra dimensions such as tells. It also considered the gold standard when it comes to World Champions at the series.
