Poker as a business can be very profitable if you know what not to do. But if you have reached the point where you want to play seriously and make a profit, then you should treat poker like a business.

Business in poker is by the casino & poker rooms who have stable income in rakes. Games of chance have inherently high variance that players are generally not consistently profitable.

Those players who have a good win rate even during a downswing have a profit

At the moment, I consider playing poker as a good time in the evenings, and a monetary reward as a pleasant bonus. It's probably better to start a poker career seriously through the foundation, but I'm not ready for that yet.

Poker can be a source of income, but the amount of that income will depend on your skill, experience and your persistence. Poker is a great game when viewed in the context of entertainment. Poker is hard work if you look at it as a profession.

I'm sorry but to consider Poker as a main business is a little bit over rated, Sure there are talented player's who play Poker and make a profit from the game, but many Professional players have a second income from some other source besides Poker.
Guy Laliberte, and Bill Perkins, Have made their money from business ventures far removed from Poker and will play in High Roller Events just to sit next to the Worlds best.
They are not really bothered if they bust out after buying in for $100,000 Dollars, Even if they Won 1 million+ It's just pocket change to them, But it is their other businesses that have made them Billionaires not Poker.

But these arent professional poker players. These are the recreational player who, in the long run, give their money to the poker pros.

Of course it's possible to be a professional poker player as many people are. However it's not easy, so I would treat it as a hobby/side hustle until you are truly crushing the games with a good hourly rate

I don't think it's for most people. Of course, there are people who live this way, but there are only a few of them.

Not for me, I'm one of those who think that there's nothing like having a fixed inflow of money into your account and setting aside your own business, with respect to poker just fun and if something comes in, welcome

Hi, I think is possible that you play how to bussiness but for that you need to be a good player, know a lot strategies, practice a lot, manage your bankroll, have selfcontrol, a lot of patience and always learning more, moreover you don’t let that the poker affect your life and your family.
Good luck.

There are very few such people who receive a regular income from poker because today you can win tomorrow lose if the AA vs KK card is dealt out and you are eliminated in a big tournament at the beginning of the game, this is how the day may be and nothing will change this always happens, but if you consider that you will play for a long time, you can assume that you will earn in the long run but the income will always be different, it may not be at all or it may rise sharply but there is no stable income

For most of us this just wouldn't be practical, simply because the vast majority of players are losing or at best break-even. Best to keep your job and play as a sideline until you have built up and can take the swings.

I think this depends on several things, where you can play, your skill, and your effort.

If you live in a jurisdiction that allows you to play on lots of sites, you are a good player, and if you work hard you should be able to do it.

Poker rather brings disappointment, because money is spent, but there is no result, although I begin to understand more how to play in this or that situation

Yesterday to a colleague who is looking for his place in the Pro world and I don't think he understands what he wants too much, I explained it to him quite well.
For a business to be profitable, over time you must first make an investment, and then start to get dividends and continue investing in the business.
After time, when you are seeing that what you invested is giving you good dividends to give you, say, certain tastes, or to live from that venture, then it means that you did things really well and you will be able to enjoy your achievements.
For me poker is exactly the same.
If your emotions do not let you choose the way you should play, then this poker venture will not be profitable. On the contrary, it is likely that you will go bankrupt.
I believe that for poker to be a profitable business for you
1° You must consider that you are a profitable player. In other words, you are a player who, even having bad streaks like any player can have, does not destroy his bankroll in one day. As in a business, one day you sell less and another day will come when you sell more, but because you had a bad day you don't finish the business.
2° You must know what you want to get out of your supposed poker business per month.
That is, if you start to build your bankroll, you should know what would be the daily income that you would have to obtain for poker to cover your expenses.
I think you're from Morocco if I didn't see it wrong, I'm from Argentina.
Here, for me, for poker to be profitable, I would have to earn an average of $30 a day, that is, about $1,000 at least.
To do this, you should build a bankroll of $5,000, where you can play, or cash tables 0.25/0.50, that is, you would have 100 boxes of 100BB each, to face the variance of good days and bad days. . And in that interim play tournaments of could be US$10 or US$20, and thus be able to increase my bankroll, and make periodic monthly withdrawals to live.
3° doing this to manage your bankroll, logically there will be the extra activities, training you, that is, studying, analyzing hands, watching videos, taking notes of who you play against, etc.
If you have the start-up capital to do this, instead of building a bankroll, the business can be made easier for you, as long as like any business you manage it accordingly.
If you have $10,000 to start and you are going to play the World Series, it is very likely that on the 1st day you will return empty-handed.
But if you go from below step by step, it is very likely that with your effort, one day God willing you can go to play a World Series without problems.
The central idea for me is that when you play you don't have the need to win yes or yes because your level of home economy needs it. But for me it is to play with a certain economic support and within the limits that you can play, and not exceed them.
My regards, brother

It is very difficult, but it is possible if you set a goal. And not everyone can play poker at a high level.

Poker brings me an income, but that income is not enough to pay all my monthly bills. My main source of income is my work, and poker is a hobby and an additional source of income for me.

For me, poker is not a source of income. I use the money I win exclusively to play poker. For me, this is a hobby, not a job, and that's probably why the game always brings me positive emotions.

Please define "stable income". Even (especially ?) the most profitable players have an income from playing poker that is anything but my definition of "stable".

For me, poker is not the main income, just pocket interest.
