Have you ever played against a celebrity? I’m curious to hear real stories, not just what’s on TV 👀

I think that playing against celebrities is often even easier — many people overestimate their skill and start to get intimidated 😏

i don’t know if people call him a celebrity but I’ve played against Jamie Stapleton a bunch on party. I use to see him pretty often here in Montreal but not much since he’s gotten to be more well known

I don’t think I’ve ever played against a celebrity, but I’m pretty sure I’ve played against Brazilian players on GGPoker with over $1 million in tournament earnings, which is no joke. I also remember winning a big flip against one of them.

I've never played against celebrities, but I'd be more concerned about the prize pool than who my opponent is. The bigger the prize pool, the more stressful the game will probably be.

Exactly! What difference does it make who takes my money — a celebrity or some anonymous player? 😄 But seriously, focusing on the numbers really helps to pay less attention to the authorities at the table.

yes, i did play a Satellite for a very big (and expensive) Online Tournament on GGPoker...i think the actual Buy-in was 5k or 10k Dollars, and i was playing a 500 Step..to my right sat Brynn Kenney iirc..everyone was a Poker Millionaire on that table (aside from me of course)..Ole Schemion played on another Table of that Sat. Not sure if these are calles Celebrities already, but very well known Poker players..

Depends on how one defines celebrity. If you define celebrity as any of the early Pokerstar's pros then yes I've played with a good number of them cause back in the day they use to play 2nl-50nl now and again on weekends with us poors. Pretty sure it was probably in their contracts that they had to play with us every so often. Most them of really seemed to like, enjoy it and would chat and take questions and ask us questions about our shelves. Good times. Then there was Joe Hackem who was just a straight up arrogant and rude jackass to everyone.

I've played with all the following: Chris Moneymaker, Greg "fossilman" Raymer, Barry Greenstein, Bertrand "Elky" Gorspellier, Daniel Negreanu, Victor Ramden, Humberto Brenes and Joe "the jackass" Hackem. Humberto Brenes was a real character funny as hell that guy and he played the most of any of them with us poors lol. Really miss the old days when you could find many good games and good interesting chats.

Cheers!!!

I already played against Laura Cyntrax in her home game and even eliminated her winning the $27 bounty on her head. I crashed with 99 on the flop and she had AA and then I followed. 😜😂😌🤑
