Well I try to analyze if I made a mistake, if it's a poker loss. Always think in long term ways, was your move long term +EV you will do it again, if you made a long term bad decision neither beer or whiskey will help. Keep your mind and your mindset clear and healthy that will help to develop your game.
If the move was long term great no bad mood, if the move was bad no bad mood because you'll learn to avoid such things. And poker is one of the games with learning to deal with losses.

I usually try to do something else other than poker, take rest from playing for a couple of days most of the time then try to spot the mistakes I made and go back on track after forgetting the bad beats

I very rarely drink alcohol, only if there is a very good reason. If I'm in a bad mood, I just go for a walk. A walk in the fresh air, personally, always helps me the best.

I'm a very practical person, I live in the countryside, so I walk around, take a deep breath and get on with life, not taking anything personally.

One, alcoholism is not a gender or tag, not black or white, there are many levels of alcoholism that goes deep into our culture, and they're not even quantitative, they are qualitative because each person, context and place of origin are different and the relationship with each drug or habit is also. So of course, the intention and frequency that we practice or consume something will affect our relationship with it, that's where I agree with you.
Which leads to the second; sex involves a person, so it shouldnt be something used as a resource to fight a bad mood, comparing to drugs or an object.
Anyway sorry I dont want to be a moralist, and also had the impression that the author of this thread was making a joke about the beer or whiskey :ROFLMAO:
Even knowing that probably most of us uses it as a resource to our mind and capacity to deal with our feelings in this world.

after a bad loss, beer and whiskey won't help me because I don't drink a couple of push-ups will definitely help or fresh air I open the window and breathe, take a break for a couple of minutes and lie on the bed and come to play again it helps

Why do you get in a bad mood when you lose? You know before the tournament or whatever has started that you can lose, so if it burdens you so heavily that you have to reach for alcohol, then you should consider whether poker is really what you should play. Not only does such a person run the risk of becoming addicted to poker, but also an alcoholic

After 15+ years and basically seeing it all, being angry/upset playing mainly online poker I simply just move on too the next thing up on my schedule for that day. Not a big drinker but do enjoy trying different affordable(cheapish) brands of scotch. So I may or may not sit down and relax with glass of scotch. Depends on what's next up on my daily schedule.

I mostly try to keep my body and mind busy doing just about anything besides poker even studying or going over hand histories. Gonna be plenty of time for studying and such once the mind is clear, fresh and not dwelling on the current bad beat or losing session. In my experience I've personally found study with a negative mindset from the last losing session a waste of time completely so I don't do that. Like playing poker I only study when in a good frame of mind.

Mainly when there's nothing next up scheduled for my day I guess I'll mostly go for a walk or a hike with my camera. Even though I'm not a very good photographer I find it relaxing and enjoying. Sometimes I'll just take a 2 hour nap with the cat(my girl Ginger). Something you find enjoyable and relaxing is always the answer after a bad beat or session at the tables.

Hi, like other says I stop to play poker to analyze this hand and start to do another thing to keep calm. Usually play poker the next day.

I tend to meditate after I play so my mood is pretty good soon after a bad session. Of course, a nice glass of wine will help as well.

I think it would not be the best option when it comes to the game of poker, you must know that losing and winning are part of this game, and that everything will depend on how good a player you are in the long run.

If something tilts you real bad the best thing to do is stop playing for a while and clear your head then come back when you`re back to yourself again.

Stay calm, bad moods are negative EV. Reassess what went wrong and move on.
