Paying to see is a great idea as long as you won't feel it in your wallet. I say this because, depending on the situation, we can see their hand played and understand the style and characteristics of the player we are facing, and use their weakness against them.

I think it depends on the position. For example, if you're in the BB with 4♠7♠ and the button opens 2x and the SB folds, I don’t think calling is that crazy, considering the button is opening very wide to steal the blinds. You could even 3-bet to around 6x if you want to protect your range.

It really depends on a lot of factors, like the image the button has of you or your read on them. In that spot, calling to see a flop is fine. Now, if the hand is opened from UTG, MP, or CO, I’d mostly just defend, but if you completely miss the flop, it’s probably not worth continuing—folding is usually better there.

Sometimes folding marginal hands and leaving your ego aside is necessary to survive in a tournament. But overall, it all depends on the specific situation you're in.

It depends on your position, your chips, whether your opponent always raises low to continuously steal the blinds... There are several things to consider.
When I'm in a tournament with three or more chips than the players at my table, and two or three players enter with a 3-5x BB hand, and I have a solid stack with low pairs and connectors like T, J, or Q, I'll automatically call... it almost always results in a good outcome .

It shouldn't be the rule, though, and it depends on many variables and conditions. Otherwise, I discard and throw away my cards immediately. But calling out of curiosity is crazy.

I think all depend on the hand situation, but always is good to have some numbers about your opponent who you're going to call.
I sometimes pay pre-flop with marginal cards but with good possibilities post flop against a player who open raise wide, but if you have not any info about the opponent then I think always is better fold.
In that situations I try to keep in mind that words someone said : "if you are not sure about the power of your cards in such hand, then fold is the best way" more is there are too many risk of your chips. " Not sure: fold"

I was referring to the river, but that would be at the beginning of the tournament, and the main objective is to identify opponents and get a read on who we're facing. However, betting with marginal hands is pushing it too far. The best option is actually to be the "dealer," observing more and playing less. Only strong hands are interesting initially. That sounds great! I only play with a marginal hand if I have chips left over, simply because I know that the vast majority of hands don't make sense at the end of the hand. For that reason, I prefer to take the risk and see if it's really worth keeping that information to myself.
