Okay, I know you can't look at SS while running PS. I've never used SS to check on opponents and have no intention of doing so.

I've heard through the grapevine that it's against PS policy to use SS PERIOD. Does anyone know if this is true?

The only reason I care is to track my own results....get myself back at least even on their database, before flipping to micro cash games.

Mostly a vanity thing I guess, but in my books it's unfinished business.

My main point is I would have to "opt in" to track my progress...can this be held against me by a pokersite?

EDIT...Hope this post makes sense...kinda drunk ATM.

Just use PT3 or HEM. PT3 has a 2 month trial period and HEM has a 15 day period. It is safer that way, although I do not think you can get in much trouble if you happen to use sharkscope but it is still better to not risk it and track it yourself. You will also get a more accurate representation of your game since sharkscope does not always track all the games.

But I do not think you will get into any trouble over this if you decide to opt in and use it but obviously not when you are logged in of course.

it clearly states "while PokerStars is running"
http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/room/prohibited/

So if you close the client every time you check it I wouldn't worry about it.

If they catch you using it while Stars is running you'll receive a warning letter.
They used to monitor web traffic and people complained and they stopped doing that.

I was playing on full tilt a while back and one player was mad that I won a hand against him. He was bluffing and I had a good hand. He then started telling the whole table about my stats. lol.
Too bad he didn't pay attention to how I was playing at the table. He couldn't tell what anyone had or how they played. He was first to go out and was still telling all at the table how bad I was. lol.
The thing about some of the stat sites is when I first started I had no clue about position or how to play. I have read a lot of books got experience and read blogs. I am not the same player I was, your average will include your beginings unless you change your name.

I don't know a lot about SS, but it sounds like it's data compiled by people other than you, which would be against ToS.
