Despite the passage of years and days, I still fall into the same mistakes that I know will lead me to loss.
Whether my mood is good or bad, I want to play, even though I know that I should avoid playing during times of bad mood.
Are we heading to poker, hoping to win in order to gain some adrenaline to get out of the bad mood?
How about you, does your mood have a positive or negative effect on your poker performance?

Sometimes I just do not have the 3 hours and 30 minutes to money in a game of poker, so I go in on less than premium hands and more often than not, I find myself in the money. When I have all the time in the world and I am ready to have a good game, it is usually then that I last not even a half hour.

If I'm in a bad mood, I don't play. I don't play if I'm not feeling well or if I'm sick. For me, the game is not only entertainment, for me poker is a source of additional income, and so in order not to spoil my results for the week or for the month, on such bad days I just refrain from playing.

I don't enjoy playing if I am in a bad mood, normally I don't bother even opening up the software on my computer if I am not in the right frame of mind, at Live events I find I really don't get into a foul mood anyway, the excitement of playing in a Casino or Pub where I can handle a chip stack, and pit my wits against other players was always a thrill, I suppose that is why I miss the good old days, as I don't get out much, and playing on-line just doesn't appeal to me that much.
Clicking Chips together, Shuffling them, sounds and feels so much better than Mouse Clicks!

Poker is both a thinking and emotional game, so your mood and mental clarity will definitely impact your performance. Distractions and your level of focus at the table also play a big role. Since I only play for fun, it’s not as important to me, and I’m usually doing something else while playing and it definitely negatively affects my performance.

You pointed out something important, that we should take poker seriously and play only when we are mentally and physically prepared.
Thanks

Basically everything depends on the mood in fact.

generally a lack of attention, or a poorly done analysis, thinking that all the villains are always stealing and tall pairs that blind their hands.

Hi :)
I play poker for fun, so I play only when I have all the necessary conditions. If I have free time and a good mood. As for my mood, I'm almost always in a good mood, but with free time, it's much more complicated.

being overly aggressive after a bad beat is my problem. if you got money in with higher odds that's the correct play.

Your mood can have a significant impact on your poker performance. If you're in a positive mood, you're likely to make more clear-headed, rational decisions and stay focused for longer periods. Positive emotions can also increase confidence, which may help you take calculated risks. On the other hand, if you're in a negative mood—angry, frustrated, or stressed—this can lead to impulsive decisions, emotional play (also known as tilt), and poor bankroll management. Maintaining emotional balance is key for consistent performance in poker.

Sometimes it happens that nothing comes out, you feel that you have played the hand well and you don't win, that makes you frustrated and affects your next game, that should be worked on.

I personally think that there is no good mood that can survive a bad poker session.
and that there is no bad mood that cannot be made worse by playing poker.
that said, I don't really care about the mood when playing poker, it will suffer regardless of how it starts.

I agree, I do the same, and I noticed that when you are not in the mood to play, then luck does not smile on you.

Mood can definitely affect my poker performance. But, if I play poker when I'm not in the the best mood sometimes it helps me to get into a good mood.

In my case, my mood definitely affects my game. I have noticed this pattern for a long time. Of course, not always when I am in a good mood I have good results. But when I'm in a bad mood, I just have terrible results. That's why I play only on days when I'm in a good mood.

Poker has some cake recipes, something that I respect a lot is... if you are not in a good mood or patient... don't play, remember that tomorrow will be a new day... this also serves to avoid down swings ...

There are many players that use poker as an escape of many emotions, like anxiety, depression, boredom and/or loneliness. It's because when we play, we have a release of dopamine, which make us feel good. The problem is when our brain get used to the dopamine, so, we need to play more or higher stakes to reach the same level of pleasure. I've noticed that in the past, my mood used to affect my game, specially when I was bored. I didn't had any patience to wait for good hands, I just played like a loose aggressive player. Nowadays, I learn to play only when I really want to play, if I want to do something else, I just don't play that day.

My mood also has a negative effect on the game. You need to work on yourself as well as on the game

I open a poker room and hope to register for a tournament, but it turns out to be unavailable, I have to reboot, and if access is restored after the tournament starts, then I have a complete lack of trust in this site...

In general, I once read a long time ago that you need to play poker when everything is good in life, there are no problems and you feel good. But 15 years ago, poker helped me get out of depression, so to speak. I was going through a very difficult period in my life, it was then that I first got into a live poker club and from that moment I started playing poker. This sport helped me to distract myself from my problems and make new friends. At that time, I could spend time in a poker club almost every night, enjoy the game, get an adrenaline rush and at the same time communicate with different people on different topics while sitting at the poker table during the game. Now I try to play poker when everything is good in my life and I have no problems. At such moments, the result from the game is much better, I can direct all my thoughts to the game and not think about other things. If there is some problem, I try not to play until I solve it.

I try to play poker without emotions. Recently I've been doing it well, which has brought me some good tournament results. And poker helps me abstract myself from other problems in my life.

Yes, this is true, but it rarely happens that anger on some days pushes us to the top of the table and get out of the state of anger or achieve an acceptable result.

most of the time when I lose a play with a good hand, I get furious and from that moment on I end up losing the tournament most of the time due to lack of patience.
