I have a lenovo flex 2 with windows 8 and Ubuntu, but you don't need an expensive laptop to play poker

here you have the requirements to play with the pokerstars software (from pokerstars . net):

Minimum system configuration (Yes, we tested it. Not too fast, but still playable):
100 MHz Pentium (800 Mhz for Windows Vista)
64 MB RAM (Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME) or
96 MB RAM (Windows NT 4 , Windows 2000, Windows XP) or
512 MB RAM (Windows Vista)
800x600 screen resolution with 16-bit color depth (High Color)
20MB of free disk space for download
56k dialup Internet connection

Recommended system configuration:

I attached an extra screen for multi-tabling on different sites at the same time.

No laptop I use a desktop and when I travel I take a Zotac Desktop Computer Atom X5-Z8350 which is a PC-Stick that I can plug into a tv or monitor with hdmi connection but I take an adapter so I can pug into d-sub as well. Mini wireless keyboard and mouse all fit in small outside pocket of my carry on size bag.

I have 4GB Ram but it supports up to 8GB maximum memory.

Win10 and soon I will be upgrading to a SSD hard drive.

i also use a computer tv monitor so over 20 inches with it make easier on eyes and fell once and cracked screen need to repair but like having on another viewing if had laptop always working right would only play in bed lol and think play better when sitting etc..

Thanks for the replys guys, I am looking at getting a new laptop and just wanted to know what players use, I have one that's in ok working condition, I will likely wait until Boxing day to get one.

i use an ASUS with SSD, just can reccomend it, starts really fast and is truely noiseless, perfect for a student's life (and for studying and playing poker at the same time i use an additional screen via USB that also is an ASUS)

Toshiba satellite( win 7 ) plugged to my lcd tv via hdmi cable.Im typing with my mouse lol ( virtual keyboard ).I think laptop manufacturers should make more robust laptops for poker players, you know the bad beat stories.

Rest doesnt matter imo. Poker doesnt taake up much memory.

I would think specs probably won't have to do too much for a poker client but I do have a windows tablet hp stream 7 I believe that I have not tested out yet but hoping to see if I can run some of my poker clients on it

I use my Desktop PC regulary, only sometimes my Lenovo T60 Laptop.
Poker really dont need much memory or cpu. At max 500 MB Ram.
A 1,5 Gigabyte RAM and a 1.8 Ghz CPU should be well enough to play without lagging even while the loading phases.
You can use every new laptop, most netbooks (with windows running)
or a good linux laptop and pokerstars client in wine emulation software, if you dont want windows.

You can use the most old laptops too, my T60 is dated on 2007/2008 production year and it runs it very well!
