I play for money. I have been gambling for over 30 years and I have always played for money. You could say that poker is entertainment for me, but it is entertainment that entertains me solely because you can win money in this game.

I think if you don't enjoy playing poker, learning more about it, studying continuously and getting better, it is very difficult to make money out of it. Everybody has access to the same information and professional players learn continuously. The edges have become very small and if your poker skills are static and everybody else's are getting better, you will end up losing money. Apart from that you need resilience, even the best players have losing streaks and sometimes it can be several losing years. I enjoy playing poker, but I never make any money out of it.

Ppoker feels like a mix of a game, a puzzle, and a mental workout. I enjoy that there’s always something new to learn: new strategies, player types, trends, etc. The social and psychological side is underrated too, especially live. Winning money is great, but even without big wins, the challenge itself is fun enough to keep me interested long term.
