bankroll management is the most important skill in poker. Even good players go broke if they play stakes that are too high for their bankroll

totally agree, and being 1 year playing for a team, I'm starting to notice the truth behind owning your field. I once saw a Podcast with Andre Akkari when he mentioned "beating the field" and now, 3 months with $ 500+ profit playing 3.3 max tournaments I understand that in a short period I'll be able to give some shots on 7 dollars so tournaments!

When you own a field it gives you enough winrate to support higher shots. You should never stop playing the lowest ones though for obvious reasons

It's important not only in poker, but also in everyday life to manage money well.

Totally agree. Bankroll management keeps you in the game long term. Even the best players can hit downswings, and if they’re playing above their roll, variance will wipe them out. Sticking to proper buy‑in guidelines and moving up only when the bankroll allows is what separates grinders who last from those who bust out.

Without a doubt, bankroll management is the most important thing in poker. No matter how good a player is, if they don't have a bankroll to overcome a bad streak, they'll go broke.

For a long time, I completely underestimated bankroll management. In the beginning, if I had money on the site, I just played whatever looked fun, without really thinking about variance or downswings. When things went well, I felt confident; when a few bad sessions hit, my bankroll would disappear much faster than I expected. More than once, I had to reload not because I was playing badly overall, but because I was playing limits my bankroll couldn’t support.

The real change came when I started treating my bankroll as a tool, not as “money to gamble.” I set clear limits, moved down in stakes when needed, and stopped chasing losses. It wasn’t exciting at first, but it gave me peace of mind and consistency. Since then, even during losing stretches, I know I’m still in the game, and that alone has helped me make better decisions and actually improve as a player.

Bankroll management is obviously important, but it’s honestly a bit nonsensical to claim that it is the most important poker skill.
The most important poker skill cannot exist outside of the game itself. What really matters is that you are playing a game with a positive expected value.

Of course, bankroll management is important so that you don’t burn yourself or go broke, but it simply cannot be the most important skill.

It is very important to play bankroll, so as not to lose the entire bankroll and not to fall into a strong tilt

I totally agree that bankroll management is very important in poker. It’s something I honestly don’t do properly yet, and I know I really need to improve in this area

Facts, there were time where I would lose over 50% of my bankroll in a single day, blow it rebuying in one single game, which was crazy when I look back at it. But know I've grown and learned to preserve my bankroll

When your bankroll grow you can move to high stake games, the problem is when your bankroll starts to shrink people will not drop down to lower stake games they think they have reached a level should not go backwards.
