Some players swear that momentum exists — when everything flows and decisions become easier.
Do you think it’s real, or just psychological?

Momentum isn’t real in a mathematical sense, but it is very real psychologically.
Momentum doesn’t change the cards(Each hand is independent, and the deck has no memory), but it definitely changes you.
So yes—what players feel is real(a mental zone where everything feels easier and more intuitive), but it’s psychological, not mystical.

For sure momentum exist , you can loose 10flips in row with AK and you can win 10 flip in row with 10 Jack , the question what nobody knows is when it all exact happens because every single hand is unique, you just need to figure out when it happens

There is no momentum in a random game like poker. Focus more on learning to play consistently and less on looking for magical solutions to achieve victory.

I think it’s real — but mostly in your head.
When you’re confident, focused, and reading the table well, it feels like momentum… but it’s really just you playing your A-game.

I think it definetely exists, but it can be influenced by other players at that table, too of course, since they can have momentum going themselfs. So you need to weigh out, whose momnentum is stronger at that very moment.

I believe in this and have witnessed it myself many times—when a player starts hitting every gutshot, every flop is his, and every coin flip automatically turns into a 100% win on the turn—and no one and nothing can stop him. It just happens from time to time, and every player waits for that moment and that coveted top-1 finish in a higher-stakes tournament.

It's psychological, when I have accumulated chips, I have every advantage, to persuade other players.

I’d say momentum is real, but not in the way most players think.

There’s no magical force in poker that suddenly puts you on the winning path.
But your brain absolutely enters a different performance state during positive momentum, and that can affect your decisions and results.

Yes momentum is real like if I'm winning hands I'm confident and if someone is 2 bet I will 4 bet if i am lucky I will made that person fold but over confidence is not good so don't go with momentum only

There's no magical momentum in poker; it's simply a psychological effect based on a series of wins or losses. It influences a player's behavior but doesn't change the mathematical odds of winning. It's important to focus on strategy and discipline, not mystical powers, as poker is a game of skill and mathematics, not luck.

momentum is real and it's all psychological and it really can impact how the table perceives you and plays against you!

For me, momentum is completely psychological. When I’m running well, I make decisions faster and more confidently, and I’m willing to open or 3-bet spots that I’d normally play more cautiously on a bad day. The cards don’t change but I do, and that good flow can easily push me into my A-game.

I don't know about the momentum, but there are days when things go awry. I call it bad. It's just a hurry. But there are few days like this. It's mostly bad luck, and this is the everyday life of a poker player. Everyone is waiting for this day when they're lucky!

I don't have an impulse... sometimes I just get some calm confidence, the idea of the right move flashed and sat down... But also, I get a direct hit 70 percent))) So it turns out... caution doesn't hurt)))

I don't believe in that. Poker is one of the most ruthless things in the world. One minute you're picking up hands and winning big, then you pick up AA and you think okay same story here "I'm going to win a big one here" next thing you know you are all in one the turn and your opponent flips over a set. Just like that everything is gone

The size of my stack is directly proportional to momentum in poker. Let's be honest, no one gets momentum with 4-5 big blinds in their stack. :ROFLMAO: So I don't think it's some kind of magic, but simply psychology that depends only on your confidence at the table. ;)
