When you're on a heater and everything seems to be going your way, do you change your style at all? I’ve noticed that when I'm running well I tend to play a bit more aggressively because the confidence is there.

But sometimes that confidence can turn into overplaying hands. Curious if others notice the same thing or if you try to keep your game exactly the same no matter the results.

Yeah. For sure, until I get sliced a bit.

Not really. I play more when I'm "in form" but that doesn't mean I play differently.

In a perfect world, the answer is no. The math doesn't care if you won the last five pots; the cards have no memory! If you start opening wider just because you feel 'invincible,' you’re actually making -EV (negative expected value) plays. I try to stay as balanced as possible regardless of the 'heater.'

When I am running hot I try to stay aggressive without getting reckless because it is easy to let the rush of winning cloud your judgment into thinking you are invincible

Playing your A game is playing your A game, even when running good or bad. It’s important to stay in the moment, the present, and not let anything from past hands influence your best play. Even winning a big pot sometimes can be bad if that’s all your thinking about and it’s keeping you from focusing on what’s happening right now in this hand.

When I am playing with the houses money I play a little more aggressive. When I am down half my stack, I play a more conservative game until I am back to my original starting stack.

No, I just try to play close to my A game both after losing/winning runs or sessions and if I believe the results influence my game/decisions, I just take a break or wait to finish the tables I have open(if I play mtts), IMO it builds bad habits if you let this things affect your play and the part that will be affected the most will be the poker mental game...
