online poker is faster, more aggressive, and full of regulars.
Live poker is slower, more psychological, and often softer — but patience is key.
Both formats require adjustments. Online demands technical precision. Live requires reading people and controlling emotions.
Which format do you prefer and why?

There 2 different animals, online it is pretty straight forward ,but live that is a whole new world,,lot more skill is needed live, online your prompted for everything, live you are the master of your own fate, you do not have notes or a HUD nobody but you, online you could talk about it with a friend in actual time, like I said 2 different games other then the math there nowhere near the same game:)

You make some very solid points.

Online and live really do feel like two different games. Online is structured — the software controls the action, tracks the bets, shows stack sizes clearly, and if you use a HUD you have tons of data instantly available. It becomes very math-driven and volume-based.

Live poker, on the other hand, demands a different skill set. You manage everything yourself — chip counting, bet sizing, physical timing, table presence. There are no stats on the screen, no pop-ups, no reminders. It’s all observation, memory, and emotional control.

I wouldn’t say one requires more skill than the other — but they definitely require different skills. Online rewards technical precision and multitasking. Live rewards psychology, patience, and reading people.

At the core the math is the same, but the battlefield feels completely different 🙂
