I was talking to a friend about an advanced poker strategy, for example you hold 23os. The flop shows trips (JJJ),you put the villain on pocket 4s and he shoves. Is it worth calling to runner runner play the board?

Problem, WVHillbilly?

One problem is that you have like 11% chance of catching a winner on the turn+river and 2% to catch the runner runner for a tie.
Meaning you will almost never have correct pot odds to call the shove, unless villain is very short.

What if you have 10:1 on your money?

I would not such a crazy move. You are at a huge mathematical disadvantage. It is better to save those chips for later in a better spot.

If you've got 23o and they've got 44 and the board is JJJ you can never win, only split
