I know that bluffing is part of it, but in what real situations is it worth risking a bluff in a cash game?

When you know there’s a good chance you can get away with it!

Seriously, it’s not simple. If you have a range advantage in a specific situation, you can bet regardless of the cards you hold. Bear in mind your opponent has to be litterate enough to perceive that…

Good morning,
it is worth bluffing in a cash game when you can expect your opponent to fold, or when you have the opportunity to improve your hand to the best one on a later street (a semi-bluff). You should prioritize bluffing against opponents who over-fold or have a weak range of hands, especially when you have a strong "bluffing story" and your table image makes the bluff credible.

Bluffing is worthwhile when you're confident your opponent will fold rather than play them to the end. This is especially effective when you're playing against a player who tends to fold weak hands when the bet is raised, or when you're in late position and can observe your opponents' actions.

When you have enough equity, its fold equity + actual equity vs opponent’s range

Bluffing generally won’t work against weak opponents who don’t know how to fold, especially calling stations so never bluff one of those players no matter what. Save your bluffs for the really good players or weak players that are folding too much. So pay attention to past actions when you are not in a hand and look at everyone’s tendencies, then exploit that.
