I’ve noticed that some players love playing deep stacked because it allows for more creativity and bigger decisions across multiple streets. Others seem to prefer shorter stacks where the game becomes more about push/fold spots and preflop strategy.

Personally I feel like deep stack games reward patience and postflop skill a lot more, but short stack situations can be really intense and fun too.

What do you enjoy more, deep stack or short stack poker, and why?

I prefer tournaments with few chips and tournaments at turbo or hyper speed, I prefer these tournaments because they are not faster but the variance is greater

Even if you start deep you will, eventually get to late phase where you become short hence I tend to play turbos - skipping deep phase :p

I usually choose based on how much time I’ll have available, to avoid the risk of having to leave in the middle. I also prefer deepstack, whenever possible because of the greater flexibility in using the stack that you mentioned, but I still play turbos/hypers depending on the situation.

If you want to play well with a deep stack, you're going to have to steal pots that don't belong to you.You also need to know when your strong hand is vulnerable. Most people make the mistake of leaving themselves open to raises and reraises with all sorts of crap like two pair, bottom sets, or top pair top kicker.

I definitely prefer deep stack. There’s just way more room to play and you can actually outplay people postflop instead of everything turning into shove/fold spots. Short stack poker feels kind of robotic to me sometimes. Deep stacks make the game more interesting and you can apply way more pressure in the right spots.

It really depends on how much time I have to play short stack online tournaments are fun you know the range in time it takes! Deep stacks take longer and for me are more fun as you can get creative

I prefer to play deep stack tournaments which is where I have my best results, I believe it is due to my style of play.

I personally prefer deep stack poker.
With deeper stacks, there’s much more room for postflop play, creativity, and strategy across multiple streets. You can apply pressure, make bigger bluffs, and really take advantage of position and player tendencies. It feels like skill has more space to show.
Short stack poker can still be exciting, but it often becomes more push/fold and preflop-focused, especially in tournaments. That can be fun and intense, but there’s usually less room for maneuvering after the flop.
So for me, deep stacks are more enjoyable because they allow for more complex decisions and strategic play. ;)
