Hey guys,
Have you ever seen or made an undercall at the table? It happens when you put in chips to call, but it’s not enough for the current bet.
Exmple:
Player A bets 1,000.
Player B raises to 3,000.
Player C only tosses in 1,000, thinking they’re just calling the first bet.
That’s an undercall. The dealer will announce it, and Player C has to either put in the extra chips to complete the call or take the 1,000 back and fold
It’s funny how often this happens in live poker, especially when the action is quick and people miss a raise
Have you guys ever been in this spot? Or maybe seen someone else get embarrassed with an undercall?

Usually when this happens the 1,000 the stuck in is staying, they won’t be allowed to pull it back and fold. It stays and they can still fold. I see it a lot so the key is to pay attention!

At any reasonable pokerroom this will be ruled as a call and the player who did it has to pay the missing amount if he wants to continue.

Undercall, very strange and wrong word imo that i hear the first time. Its especially strange considering what the meaning of an overcall is.
