Been an online player for a while now and I'm looking to get into live games, I was wondering what you guys wear for special outfits? I'm thinking about wearing a scarf to hide possible leaks.

Depends where. If I'm with my buddies, jeans and a t-shirt will do. If I'm at the casino, maybe a nice button down shirt (no tie)

What level of live games?

Thank you for posting.

I wear a scarf but that is because I know I have a tell. I only wear it when 1k or more is at risk.

The level of game you play matters. In a 1-2 2-3 NL live no one is looking. 2-5 few players are looking.

The key to your dress should be to not reveal what type of player you are. So if you sit at my table with a hoodie and sunglasses I know you studied poker and then I focus on your play to see what strat you are using. Good LAG or online LAG yet to adjust to live.

You want to seem to be a rec player so dress accordingly. Try not to be noticed so no one thinks about you until they have to on the all-in river decision.

Hope this helps

I don't play live often but when I do I defiantly dress for my image, I was thinking a scarf could fit in with the outfits I usually wear when playing live since I do dress on the nicer side.

As a senior, Depends would certainly be helpful (LOL). But seriously, it is important to be comfortable...the outside temperature will be probably over 100F, but I have heard that they crank up the air conditioning to the point it is downright cold. Make your clothing choices accordingly. As for wearing items to hide tells, like scarves, baseball hats and sunglasses, they might get in the way and become annoying to yourself over a twelve hour poker session.

It seems to me that you are dressed does not matter much, only skill will show who is in charge at the table

The fact that you are scared is already a big problem.
It is good that you use something yes in this case.
May Be a hooded jacket

Anything comfortable and warm. Most casinos and poker rooms are cold for computer thermal regulation. A hoodie, some jeans, and some comfortable footwear is all I need.

I dress the same as in everyday life. And accessories I'm bringing sunglasses and beads to hide the excitement.

I usually wear my everyday clothes and try not to look conspicuous and talk as less as possible, you can hardly tell what tell gives you out :)

I just wear what is comfortable, but I always bring a fleece/sweatshirt since it's often cold in the casino. I don't wear glasses or a hat. I make sure I have some kind of healthy snack and water with me. That's about it.

Like anything, dress comfortably you may be there for a while, hopefully. I do not try and hide anything, part of the game is to learn to control tells or use them to your advantage. I have not mastered any of that yet.

I have not had time to play live poker, but if I ever can do it, will wear a cap and glasses. When I wear a cap, I feel calmer. Think it will be very exciting and interesting at the same time.

layers of clothing. Temperature tends to fluctuate after a couple of hours. Hate getting cold and not having a jacket.
