I started playing poker online during covid and never really thought about playing live games. Is it worth switching to playing live?

Live poker can be a very social experience. IMHO the 'best' place to play live is a home game.

Of course you need to switch to live poker, there are a lot of emotions from which city you'll tell me if you're from my city

Several online poker rooms also host LIVE-events so you may want to check them out

I don't particularly have access, but if I did, I would play live.

If the online poker game is profitable, you can try to play live, or try to get a place at a live event in a satellite tournament from an online room...

Playing live, in my opinion, is much more interesting than online. But it is obvious that playing online is more convenient, as it takes less time and you can play without leaving your home. I think it's up to you to decide and any advice is unnecessary here.

I think the best places to start playing live are the closest and easiest for you to get to - that play the games you want to play.

Hi.
If you have good results, then you can also try to play live. But I am sure that playing live is more difficult and such a game requires thorough experience. Personally, I only play online in the evenings after work.
Good luck.

Live is a much softer game for sure. Most live players are recreational compared to the grinders online. Don't feel intimidated by things like live tells and such. AS time goes on you will both pick up on them and learn to conceal them from others. They aren't really a huge part of the game for the most part.

I have had the opportunity to play poker live and I loved it a lot, that's where my passion for the world of poker was born, now I play online poker more, since I feel more comfortable and I can play when I want and when I have time. Since I play live poker, I have to schedule those starts. Everything is a matter of adaptation, where one feels more comfortable there is.

If it's worth playing live, the experience is better and it's more fun, start playing with a group of friends like tournaments where the stakes aren't as high individually, simply to have fun, pass the time and understand the game a little more, as well as become a style of game:D

It really depends on where you live. If you live in a state that allows casinos then I'd check out that scene. If you're in the same boat as me then you'll have to go to a "social club", which is really just a nice cardroom. Either way I'm sure you'll find some nice action. GL.

I think that's a personal taste kind of thing, the only way for you to really find out is to give it a try and see what you prefer!

I'd suggest that, if it is possible, you go to a local card room with low minimum cash games or low entry fee tourneys. It is much different than online and you'll want to test the water before diving in. :)

In my opinion the overall experience of live play is far greater than that of playing online. There is a lot to be said for human contact, as well as the tactile pleasure of holding the cards in your hand and hearing the chips click against each other. You'll also make new friends, and hear some interesting stories. :)

100% this, home games allow you to set your own buy-in, avoid paying rake and play with people you're comfortable with. Arrange a small 3-4 person cash game with a minimal (or no) buy-in and play with friends until you're comfortable with the mechanics and rules of live poker. If you're enjoying/preferring live play, then consider trying the lowest buy-in you can find at your local casino, ideally having a friend or two join you for it.

Dusk til Dawn in Nottingham is the home of UK poker and I believe is Europes biggest card room and a fantastic venue to play at, also Napoleons Casino is great for cash poker since I now work there.
