I make notes only for players from cardschat freerols and only for select few. In other games the notes seem pointless to me

I play mostly freerolls, so, no I don't take notes because the players are different most of the times. I also play a couple of micro/small MTT's and in these case I occasionally take notes.

Yes always, any exploitable instance observed in another player. It doesn’t need details, just what they didn’t from where due to the instances circumstance. Colour coding is also important however as for me alongside the notes gives them individuality. Ive got 10/11 colours but not divided conventionally I don’t think. All that tight aggressive, tight passive isnt helpful to me as I play to oppose traits in them singularly which is why I intentionally allow myself to appear in varying states to them specifically when the moment permits.

Example.... I’ll sit at a fresh table in an MTT, I’ll donk off a small portion while blinds are harmless and appear to be fishy, wreckless, barrel bluffer. I’ll test the limits of the players at the time and ay the foundation to get over paid when the moment arises. I do this often and always and it works a treat. Those pesky 44 raises every other hand and being involved all the time early on win or lose some, set the stage.

It’s really hard for me to describe it to be honest, but I imagine many member states on here have seen it lol 🙈😅. As a result .....oh dear wtf am I now talking abou I’ve verred clean off topic lol. Playing the 18K bounty earlier and what I’m ....Dom today worry about it lol 😂

But yer.... notes are very important to your game

Apologies I ramble some lol... And example of notes I take would be like for instance, the players that tank intentionally to try and give the impression they have a hand when what they want is a free street. Players that min click with A high wanting to induce a follow my leader in bet size from those that follow... It actually works on so many too lol. GTO orientated players are like flashing strobe light needles in haystacks too, very exploitable as they have many tells.

I often play with the same players so I take a lot of notes. I color code to know who is a calling station, who bluffs too much, and note specific behaviors that I observe both in the hands I am in and those I am not in, but that go to showdown.

I tend to take notes, only from Cardschat games, and I usually use four types of colors.

Blue - For gamers ................................??????
Green - For gamers .............................??????
Yellow - For gamers .............................??????
Vermelho - Para gamers ......................................?????

Ps: If you were curious to know what color you fit in and what I note about each player, do some self-examination and imagine what color you would give yourself according to your style of play.
I'm just going to say one thing, I don't usually follow the color pattern that professionals usually use.

I was curios of what people on this forum do, because in my opinion for a tournament player playing freerolls for example (like most of the players even on this forum do ), taking notes is pointless since on freerolls players play for fun and play randomly and based on the moment. I take notes on players whom I play a lot of hands with (500+ hands) and only if I saw that they are constant.
And for colors I have no idea what professional players use, what I saw most of them ( that I follow ) don't use colors. I opened this thread because I saw a lot of photos with people notes on CC Freerolls and to me it does not make sense to do that in freerolls, and I don't remember to see a lot of CC Players on regular tournaments.
Also I don't care what "color I fit" because I don't play the same in freerolls as I do in regular tournaments. But I like Blue (that is my color );) Usually the Daily CC freerolls start at the same time with Premier League games, and Champions League games so I'm on relaxing time.

Thank you all of you guys who replied. 🙏

I take notes only for freerol players only

Do you play other buy-ins then freerolls? Why do you think that in other games (buy-ins) are pointless? Do you think that the possibility to encounter the same player at that stake in other tournaments is very low?

What type of games you play that you encounter the same players? Sit n Go's, cash?

It'd be lazy & stupid to not take notes.
One of the side benefits of taking notes is that it helps you to pay attention. I find it also aids the intuitive process over a period of time.

I don't make player notes - playing every day in certain tournaments and their satellites, I see a large number of the same players and know for sure what to expect from them. As an example, our freerolls for the platinum level...

I don't take notes and I don't color code players. If I often play with a player at the table, I remember how the opponent played. Also, notes are most useful in cash games and less so in tournaments.

Without a doubt.... I take notes on some players that I can identify game patterns as well as label them... it is very useful for those of us who play daily at the cash tables since we constantly come across the same ones players... the use of notes and labels are part of my strategy

I almost don’t, sometimes
I tag streamers per ACR and frankly aggressive players who are constantly pushing.

Very true,. Do you ever come across or aware of tricksters who you discover play randomly different and as a result apply caution? Those that reappear and completely contradict notes you had made previously on them.

I usually use colors or labels on some players, so I can better control the plays against them and it helps me a lot

Yep. I both have Notetracker running for auto notes but I also write down stuff quickly in PT4 if I see something that warrants a note. <3

I play in the CC free rolls and also in some PS home games with people I know from Facebook and real life. They are all multi-table tournaments. Mostly NLHE but some mixed games as well.
