poker online takes away the most fun aspect of the game out of it , human interaction , yet with the pandamic it becaming even more popular .

i cant comprehend that someone would rather play online on playing "live" on a table .

I love playing live, but online poker is also cool - you don't have to play online if you don't like it... ;)

I find online poker a little boring. That's why I play more than one tournament at a time.
I do like playing live but the emotions are much stronger at a live table.

Online poker is massively more convenient than live poker. You dont need to go to a casino, you can play any time of day, you can play short sessions, and you can play for a much smaller amount of money, if you want to.

I like to play online. we are comfortably installed at home and we do not have to move and spend more money in transport costs or other. you can play on several tables at the same time and you don't have to hide these emotions when you're bluffing. of course when we play live with friends and or against people we like. we also have a good time and we take more pleasure in playing poker. in the final both are equal and more important for me is to win and increase my banckroll.

If you compare it to live poker, it's the negative point. But I don't see it as boring. On the other hand you can play it at the comfort of your home. I see many advantages on it.
If I play too much at a day, it starts to get my brain tired or even bored. Not playing my 'A' game.

nothing beats the fun of a live home game with drinks and smokes and banter.
nothing beats the thrill of winning a lot of live money from total strangers
nothing beats the convenience of online

life is a rich tapestry of many colours...enjoy them all.

I prefer to play poker online. If I had the choice to play live or online, I would prefer online. To play live, you also need to be able to keep your emotions to yourself. It's not easy.

Playing a single table online can be boring but multitabling keeps you in the action all the time and that's why I like playing online. You get dealt a lot more cards per hour and don't have to travel to casino.

Play higher stakes and I guarantee it will be more enjoyable or at least more of a thrill.

I know what you mean. I like to play online a lot. As in I very much enjoy it. I get to see a great deal of hands, situations, and can say anything I want out loud without offending anyone, and there's always a game, any time of day. But man, I DO miss playing with people in person. Live play just can't be fully replicated by playing online, so I view the two differently. It just sucks that our "new normal" is impacting us this way. But we aren't the only ones, there's a lot of people out there who can't engage in a lot of socially-centric activities while we do our part to flatten the curve. Not to mention people out of work who don't know where their next meal is coming from, or if they'll be able to keep their homes. Or people fighting for equality being brutalized by police and a system that seems intrinsically designed to reinforce that. Or terror attacks around the world. I mean I could go on and on with all the issues in the world, and the more I think about it, the less bad I feel about my circumstances. The fact I get to even play at all is something I'm grateful for. I will say this though, no live play is the #1 reason I was indifferent to the wsop this year (aside from a couple of DNegs' live streams - which is what turned me off to watching any more of it). Hell, I still don't know who won the main event this year.

I agree with this guy. I will add that online has a much higher rate of premium hands. So if your bored its possibly your burnt out. Rng compared to live random is like comparing The 50 yard dash to the 500 meter. Live is so slow you have to converse or you fall a sleep. Love them both. Best part i can sit around in my undies. Do that in a casino you go to jail. ;)

Maybe spend time making notes and colour coding your opponents also when not doing that chat up the table if you’re bored. Have fun and enjoy the game, most people at the table won’t respond or can’t because they don’t speak English, but I have made friends from all over the world that way.

I think online poker's appeal comes more from the thrill of being better than your peers, like in online chess. People don't really play chess online for human interaction, they are grinding for elo and to work to be the best they can. Online poker is much the same to me, but I can certainly recognise the appeal of the interaction in live poker.

I prefer online poker instead because that’s where I first learned to play and its almost all I know so there is comfort in that. I have only every played live 1x and made it to final table and of course there are people standing all around watching and I was very nervous, my heart was just a pumping and my hands a bit shaky.

We play live at home with our family sometimes, and I still don’t always remember to do all the hand gestures and formalities. Still learning, as I’m a work in progress :) Maybe one day I’ll like live but not today!!
