If I were you I'd get a bank account asap. Bovada prefers you to deposit your check through the ATM. There are other ways around it, but for the most part, having an account is the safest way.

usually deposit to checking account.
thing it is not a good idea to cashing them in Wal Mart.
because it is from foreign banks.
more fees may applied if cashing them in Wal Mart.
and it is not secure if something happened to checks. think their checks are from Singapore?

would a big national bank or local bank be better for cashing them?

I have Bank of America and have deposited a check from Bovada there. It did not let me deposit it through the ATM however. I had to go inside and give it to the teller. I assume because the check was from Canada is why I couldn't use the ATM to deposit it.

Whatever the reasoning behind it, everything worked fine with the teller and I did not have any issues. I was pleased.

Try getting an account with a bank that rhymes with "base" Ive had no issues and they do prefer you to deposit by ATM.

I think so? I did a couple of posts, and hope it's ok, but nobody sent me a PM telling me we cannot.

I think Chase will be ok for Bovada as well.

I had to go inside my bank also, the ATM wouldn't take the check. They didn't ask me any questions when I deposited, but charged me $5 later for a foreign check.

You will have to have a bank account to cash online poker checks.

Maybe it's the branch you go to because I never had a problem.

You could just do WU or MG and just show your ID and have cash in seconds. Either way I would get a bank account.

I would use WU and get the cash, and turn around and deposit into my bank.

Get a bank account. ckickenking is right. Credit Unions are great. Mine deposited the check with no problems. I did have to fill out a form because it is from a foreign bank, and I had to wait 7 days or so for the check to clear before the money showed up in my account, but they did not charge me any kind of fee.

I would go with Chase just because it is the biggest and the bigger chains generally have less issues with international checks. Now after I typed that a poster above said Chase doesn't accept international checks, so I have no idea if that is the case.

I don't think the bank will be a problem if they have ATM deposit. I don't know about out of country checks, but it all depends on the bank. Don't write checks on the deposit for at least a week.
