When did PokerStars stop using real time exchange rates for withdrawing? Seems like they have a fixed unfavorable rate for a couple of weeks now.


edit: Looks like its better to convert the currency and then withdraw.

Always convert to your counties currency before withdrawing if you want to get the best rate, pokerstars charges sneaky charges otherwise.

The same can be said when depositing, always deposit as your countries currency and then convert it yourself in the cashier.

Hey guys , I was browsing my PS cashier today and I was wondering , since I am a European citizen should I keep my money in Euro? I mean I have nothing to do with USD.

What about you? Can you help me a little bit? Would it be wise to convert the whole amount to Euro the right timing when it favors me(exchange rate?)

It's good that I am displaying it as it is in dollars without conversion. Thus, I get 100% of the money.

It may not be the site that is the problem here too. My company sent out payments daily that need to be converted to another currency. The rate changes by the minute and worse are th small fees associated with the exchange. This maybe why it always seem to be in the sites favor.

As far as I know, PokerStars have always have a spread between their exchange rate for buying and selling currency, like pretty much any bank or money changer does. Best solution is to avoid repeatedly withdrawing and redepositing, if you have to do it in another currency than your own.

I think the main thing is not the exchange rate, but the ability to make a stable profit. If you know how to make money playing poker, then the exchange rate is a secondary issue.

Everything is fine with poker stars with the exchange, an insignificant commission covers the profit
