Its largely a regulation issue. Just for fun I logged on to GG Poker, and the only deposit options available in Sweden are Luxon Pay and something similar, which I dont remember. And almost certainly this is, because GG Poker dont have a swedish license. On the licensed sites like PokerStars people living in Sweden can deposit with their credit card and withdraw via direct bank transfer.
Yes, but more and more countries are getting some sort of regulation.
This started the disappearance of wealthy bad Americans from international big sites:

It made me take my business to Svenska Spel, where the action was very good at the time, at stakes equivalent to 100-500NLH USD:
My bank won't even accept money from LuxonPay, so I'm not really interested in jumping through hoops to play.
PokerStars takes seconds to deposit and rarely more than a day to withdraw. But as you know, since we don't get anything extra like bonuses or rakeback, we aren't playing on an even playing field, and that doesn't motivate me to grind. Especially not now when 10NLH is tighter than 100NLH was 15 years ago.
