According Lex Veldhuis X account he has left Pokerstars after 17 years. Why, remains unknown.

Not so long ago another long time Pokerstars streamer left the site, and now Lex did the same.

Pokerstars have been on a downward slide for years. This was exacerbated when GG entered the market and actively went after Pokerstars market share and Stars very arrogantly thought that GG would fail and did nothing to compete with them. GG are by far the biggest site today and that gap is only growing.

Stars needs a complete reboot at put customers first rather than just profits. They still have the best client software by a mile, but that will not draw customers back. Lower rake and better a rewards programme is the ONLY way they will regain a slice of the market they have lost.

Yes I ask myself that for years why they don't come up with a good reward system..
I reckon the reason is exactly as you said..pure arrogance

Its really interesting, right now I don't know what they could do that woud work. GG have more 'easy play' games, such as their spins and batte royal, that have variation and seem to attract the casual player and keep them there. Then they play other games too and keep the games softer.

We've seem it here on the forum, so mnay more players are talking about trying to beat spins, or playing battle royal like its a real game. Not saying there isn't validity to it, I have considered the same too, but it shows that poker is changing, players want easy access and then feel that if they can start winning then maybe they are good.

Its like the opposite of previously when you'd see a lot of forum posts suggesting that longer blinds show a better standard of player, whereas for me this just showed some players had more patience.

Things that are great on GG for me, the best is not being able to have an external HUD, I think it create a much fairer playing environment for all players

On Lex, I saw him streaming on GG the other day, and it was interestung to see him going deep in these games. He has had some problem with stars or Twitch for a while now, although I'm not sure exactly what happened. I reckon these players also want to be able to play in the massive games, and probably are choosing to not want to be restricted to playing on stars.

It was interesting to see him playing massive buyins but only had a small total cash wins, and will be interesting to see how quickly his winnings grow on GG

He reached more than $40 k right now, that´s impressive. But the amount of great and best (starting) hands he got dealt was not really the amount I get when I play there. This is all so random, that it is not really believeable.

Every time new ownership takes over the primary goal is increasing profits . And a common result is that customer service suffers .

If Lex Veldhuis has left PokerStars, then things are really bad there. Perhaps the reasons will be revealed soon and we will find out everything from reliable sources.

I recently came across new Lex Veldhuis broadcasts. Now he constantly participates in GG Poker tournaments. PokerStars is a thing of the past for him.

Kind of makes sense, since PokerStars have still not managed to secure a dutch license. As a site sponsored pro it must be extremely tiring not to be able to play from your country of residence.

I thought he lived in England with a girlfriend, but maybe it was another PS sponsored player.

It was about time . Everyone has left pokerstars , maybe he was the last to close the door . Maybe their customers will do this , who are less and less nowadays . I guess he is just playing on GG , he is not sponsored yet . I guess that will also come for him .

I don´t think so. ( my personal opinion)

GG-Poker is also on a consolidation way.

Their new rakeback system, says clearly that they want apply savings and sell them as the new better system.

All platinum tiers will get zeroed after this year and have to grind from 0 in 2027.
A shady way, not clearly saying what is going on.
